Very interesting question, but my answer is none. CGI, over-choreographed action scenes, modern music, and lightening fast cuts would damage the integrity of the original in almost every case.
The Last Starfighter is a good example. The original was a nerd-level cult classic, but modern day CGI would be insulting to the greatness of the original.
Streets of Fire would be cool, but those iconic fight scenes with the sledghammers would be ruined. And replacing the classic 70s/80s style rock with modern day pop would hurt me.
Maybe something like The Burbs or the Money Pit with no action, CGI, or notable music, but can you really replace a young Tom Hanks? I do like seeing nods to classics like Planes, Trains, and Automobiles vs. Due Date.
My other problem is that when I watch 80s teen movies now, I'm always thinking "Where the F are the parents?!" and "Why is the principal / cop / boss / etc. so dumb!?"
