It feels like Spielberg has decided to take one big epic last swing at making a legendary alien encounter movie before he starts getting too old to do something like this. Close Encounters and ET are such seminal works, but on a fairly small scale - very few witnesses see either event . War of the Worlds had a fairly large scale other, but was about just one family, and was ultimately "just" a remake. I hope they keep they keep the details as close to the vest as they can until June.

Pessimistic about this one, but what else is new.

although Josh O'connor and emily blunt are usually in pretty good movies...so who knows.

I will probably see this just because y'all will be talking about it nonstop and treating it as gospel and I want to know what sort of silly references redstone will be making after seeing it (slight sarcasm, very slight) but the preview, to me, looks so stupid. I'm interested in the alien topic, I read the UAP thread daily, but this preview took me from super interested in this movie to barely interested at all.

I've seen some videos stating Disclosure Day may have a tie to Close Encounters of the Third Kind - but obviously that is just speculation and is light on any substantive details. If you were a kid when CE3K came out (I was 10), there was quite a lot of imagery that was approaching nightmarish status. Disclosure Day looks to feature some similar imagery, but I don't know that I'd call that a direct tie to the earlier movie.

the Signs crop circle was one ripoff.

The animals in the yard was a ripoff of Dreamcatcher. The other stolen IP is blatant.

If Spielberg hopes to save his reputation, he should stop with the ripoffs. He should literally yank this film and re-edit the movie to remove all the tropes and other reused extraterrestrial cliches.

Hook is a fantastic movie. I even like 1941.

But yeah, Spielberg needs to save his reputation… as what? The greatest director in Hollywood history? The guy that almost single handedly transformed the film industry in the 1970's and influenced every single filmmaker that came after him? Mega Lops needs a better rant to save his reputation.

Never saw 1941 and made out with my first girlfriend all the way through Hook, so it's actually probably my favorite Spielberg movie of all

Agree.

Hook was so good and any movie featuring John Belushi as a P-40 pilot has to be good. Both seem to be overlooked in Spielberg's filmography.

Anyone see any clips from Act 3 yet?

This is a Limited Hangout, positively or negatively. Probably both.

Background of that is Psyop Cinema podcast and their websites. It's documented and they pay and put in the time, including interviews. Oliver Stone and Tony / Ridley Scott and Malick series have a huge amount of information. Please check it out while we wait on the film.

Hollywood and DC are deeply intertwined, and has made presidents - Wasserman / Reagan most notably.

Speilberg is a major figure here.

I do believe he's a decent guy with strong access to deep state (meaning, permanent bureaucracy and access to black box budgets) talks.

As the movie is discussed more, especially first week of release, I'd filter it through Walter Kirn. He knows both sides and wants disclosure.

The positive : negative distinction is in myth making and truth telling. Which we don't have much access to. What filters to us via entertainment …. has been filtered.

The cast listing includes some professional wrestlers (Lance Archer / Brian Cage) and Chavo Guerrero Jr. listed as a referee...

I sincerely hope that at some point during this film we're going to see a cage match match between humans and aliens with the fate of the world on the line.
