Must've missed all the hate surrounding the Grammys.

Had it on but wasn't watching closely. The Ozzy tribute with Slash, Duff McKagan, and Post Malone was pretty awesome.

I will support any Ozzy support. I don't care if he pissed on the Alamo. I'm not a rock. If that makes me a racist or a stonist, so be it.

Did not watch, but I bet there was a lot of pathetic anti-ICE stuff.

What's with all the questions? I just stated my prediction. The Grammys have not been good for decades.

I remember when Bob Dylan won album of the year in like the 90s (maybe early 00s). That was the moment I realized the grammys were ridiculous. Yeah he was great at one time, but sheesh.

Right. I don't get that part of the tweet at all. I guess he's trying to sensationalize something.

Really it's just a chance for heavily medicated hyper-narcissists to act like heavily medicated hyper-narcissists.

It's funny how these awards shows are only heavily politicized when a R is president. Billy Eilish should open up her home to a dozen or so unvetted military aged Central American males if she wants to prove she's not just the run-of-the-mill virtue signaling phony.

Ah yes… because MAGA celebrities have never publicly shared their political views. If you don't like what they are saying then don't watch. Pretty sure the 1st Amendment is still a thing… for now.

Trust me...if it was a constant right winged circle jerk every time a D was in office, a lot of you would be annoyed by it as well. You'll probably say "no, I wouldn't care", and maybe that's true for you, but I promise you TONS of liberals would be weeping and gnashing teeth. Maybe surrounding the next Grammys ready to get violent and destructive.

Such a silly argument, no one is saying they shouldn't have the right to be self-worshiping virtue signaling idiots.

Imagine how a dude would be treated for getting up last night and spewing pro-Maga/Anti-abortion/pro-ice stuff. LOL. Blackballed in Hollywood forever. He and his family would also probably be stalked at home by leftists.

There's a reason i chose not to listen to AM talk radio or Fox News. Sounds like the "Patriot awards" are more your speed.

Amyl and the Sniffers opened for ACDC in Melbourne. They rocked!

That's all I can contribute to the Grammy conversation.

These are the dumbest and laziest types of posts on this forum. Poster criticizes a fellow poster for sharing their opinion of others sharing their opinions.

The hypocrisy on this site by so many is just hilarious.

Yeah, way worse than an entire thread about an event where most posters are just complaining about something they didn't even watch.

It's an internet forum. This is the entertainment board. The Grammys happened last night. During the show, there was a ton of idiotic leftist crap being spouted.

And then it's dumb to create a thread about it and talk about what was said? We can't respond to things being said because it upsets you?

Never change, TexAgs, lol.

Not at all what I said, but enjoy creating your own narrative.

Though I was actually going to use "Never change, TexAgs" in regards to a bunch of people getting upset about a thing they didn't or have no plans to watch.

I think it's telling of the current state of the music industry that we didn't even get a thread discussing nominations and winners on this board. The Grammys seem to have become irrelevant compared to the past.

And I think that's because most of mainstream music has melded into hip hop / pop. Zero rock involved so I personally have zero interest in caring or watching.

I also saw something somewhere showing an analysis of the variability of the music being produced and what's popular. The standard deviation in actual (I'm going to get this wrong) octaves / sound / etc in songs has basically flat-lined over the last several years. There is very little actual musical range in songs now.

I guess I just miss when I could watch these things and it was all about the entertainment. Maybe that makes me a beta male, but I actually used to enjoy the Grammy's and Oscars. I guess occasionally Tim Robbins or Susan Sarandon or Meryl Streep woudl spout off something silly, but for the most part, it was still fun and about the entertainment.

Now I just follow up the next day to hear about how awful ot preachy it was, and who said what.

I will never understand those who get bothered by conservatives being annoyed by Entertainment awards shows being hijacked by self-worhiping political zealots pretending really hard to be "caring" and "righteous".

Actual music question here, no sarcasm. Who is the best rock band on the planet right now? What was the best rock album of 2025? I love all genres, but I couldn't answer this for myself off the top of my head just now, so before I go to Google...

10-15 years ago this board's topics were like 50% music related. Last few years, usually only 2-3 on page 1 music related. Tells you alot.

This is my biggest point.

Standard TexAgs ET thread:

1. Entertainment event happens (award show, movie, TV show, etc).
2. That same event is blatantly or overwhelmingly pushing a leftist narrative or political ideology.
3. Center-right through right-wing posters on TexAgs respond to what was said or being pushed, calling it out and reminiscing of a time when it wasn't so overwhelming.
4. Center-left and left-wing posters on TexAgs accuse those other posters of being obsessed with politics and ultimately turn to ad hominem attacks.

Why are we the crazies for not wanting politics in our entertainment? Then you have goofballs like cajunaggie pointing to Fox news and the Patriot awards. The reason the left does this is because they can't understand the concept of simply wanting to enjoy entertainment without always pushing "The Message".

Whereas, people like me, don't want overtly conservative messaging pushed, either. Most of us just want that crap gone. But the left owns Hollywood and it is filled with group think and meaningless virtue signaling.
