Not technically a riff, but on "I'm Coming Out" by Diana Ross, I think Tony Thompson gave the best, most chaotic drum intro ever on a pop song. I still can't time it right when just trying to air drum.

His use of flams is so good. I actually do not like the song, but the intro on Some Like it Hot is classic 80s gated reverb to me.
So are we debating best drum intro to a song, or good songs that happen to have a drum intro? I feel like we need both categories.
