I noticed a Father/Son cut in September. Can anyone shed any light on that? Is it for current students and their dads? Are random old Ags able to attend? Can Old Ags bring future Ags?

As I mentioned in the other thread, yes to all of the above. All are welcome, from dads, to moms, to siblings, to friends. Depending on the age of said future Ags, you might run into a few more problems, but as long as they're dressed appropriately and go to Cut Class, I think it'd be fine.

I'm a dead CT, but if you contact a current Hog, I know they'd love for you to come out with them.

To be honest, anyone will be welcome out at any time as long as they go through a cut class and conduct themselves in an appropriate manner.

If I were to bring a youngster that wasn't mine out to cut or stack, I would get a signed permission slip from his/her parents or guardian. Both parents permission is best. Also, the website www.studentbonfire.com explains rules and regulations to visitors.

If I were to bring a youngster out, I would make sure that I had plenty of water and proper clothing and personal protective equipment.

This is my first semester as a student and I am absolutely excited for first cut!

FIRST CUT WHOOP.

This 'old ag' will be there.

almost time to kill some trees & it can't get here fast enough! but why is cut site so far?

it's about the same as it was, just now it's farther down OSR and not so much FM 49.

I'm still making the drive, but it is 50% longer. Hooray gas expense.

7.3 more miles than Cut 2006

2 minutes quicker via Google earth.

Looked it up and compared the sites, and I was getting ready to say mi culpa, but I've gotten stuck on the fact that, while the 2006/7 site was "31.5 miles" away, google maps says it should take 50 min. Not speeding on Pin Oak Rd...never ever speeding on pin oak... I used to make that run in 25-30 minutes depending if we booked it down 6, so there's no way thats right. But it's also saying this new drive is just over 7 miles farther away and takes the same time to drive...

It takes me 45 minutes to get to Normangee when I drive home, but effit I'm just doing the drive, it ain't gonna change.

So? How'd it go!?

Were you going 125 on 6? Cause theres no way.

An old buddy and I convoyed back into town from cut yesterday. Took us both 31 minutes to get from site to the northgate post office (where we split ways).

The '06/7/8 cut/stack sites were a pretty firm 30-35 min drive. It was 15-20min to the first turn across the rr tracks, ~10min to pin oak rd, and 5-10 min down pin oak depending on if it was backed up or dusty. I remember having deferred speeding tickets and making myself drive under the speed limit.

The new site tho, I can't figure out. Driving right at the speed limit in the morning it took ~40min to drive out. After being stuck behind a grandma going ten under for a couple of miles we made it back in a little over 30min going the same route.

Nice site, easy access, no complaints.

How was the turnout? The log count? The grabassing? The leadership?

For many of us (vast majority I would say), the TexAgs Bonfire forum is the only link we have to the current ongoings of Bonfire. Would love to see continued updates.

I had to miss first cut because I got sick thanks to fellow classmates. I'll keep y'all filled in.
