Would you be in favor of IVF if the embryos were not allowed to be destroyed or is your stance against IVF for other reasons?

I'm against it because it feels weird. Creating humans in a lab seems...off. Like the Matrix.

If every single embryo created was given a chance at life, and every person signing up for the process knew they must do so, what you would have is a less evil form of IVF.

There are other complications such as creating life in a manner that we were not designed for. Most people against IVF on other grounds are coming at it from the stance that the man is jerking into a cup, the woman is pumping herself full of artificial hormones to overproduce eggs all while telling the couple to either avoid the sexual act altogether or use condoms:

Sex during the early stimulation phase of an IVF cycle is acceptable as long as the couple is using a form of barrier contraceptive, such as a condom. In the event ovulation was to occur unexpectedly, especially from multiple follicles, we want to avoid the possibility of multiple pregnancy.

Later in stimulation the ovaries may start to significantly enlarge due to the growth of many follicles. "As patients get closer, we tell them to avoid intercourse because the ovaries are very enlarged and cystic and we are concerned that intercourse could lead to rupture of a cyst on the enlarged ovaries or a twisting of the ovary on its blood supply, called ovarian torsion. This is extremely rare but abstaining from sex can help to avoid these types of complications," explains Dr. Roeca.

It is far from ideal for various number of reasons, but most of the non embryonic destruction arguments against are going to go to something many protestant Christians won't recognize. Ultimately, it is best to pray and search for God rather than taking matters into your own hands. I don't know about you, but I have a number of friends and acquaintances that "just couldn't conceive" only to have a baby not long after they settled on adoption. There are also NaPro clinics popping up around the country that have very similar success rates to IVF using natural methods.

Lastly, IVF is a massive cash cow that, I personally believe, preys upon the fears of couples as "the only way we can have a baby" when it is categorically untrue. Do I think IVF babies are evil? No. Do I think my friends that have resorted to IVF intended evil? No. But there are other ways that are being suppressed due to their lack of profitability and the inconvenience of usage and, while I think it is a massive disservice to the general population, I most firmly believe it is an offense against God-fearing Christians being convinced there aren't any alternatives.
