I just finished The Idaho Four by James Patterson.

Interestingly, even though it came out weeks after the plea agreement, there was no mention of it in the book. It ends with the assumption of an impending trial.

Police wouldn't answer but did say that they believe all for victims were stabbed with the same knife.

I THINK he went there to K Maddie but Kaylee was in the room. Wasnt expecting 2. Got distracted and dropped the sheath when he ran after Xana. I truly think Xana went upstairs and he chased her to her room.

Not officially, but I believe that he targeted Maddie. I think he thought he'd find her alone in her bedroom and when he didn't, he killed the other girl. She was actually just there for the weekend.

I think the other girl who had ordered a food delivery that arrived sadly right about that exact time he entered the home or just after he had killed the other girls, was in the wrong place at the wrong time. I think if she and her boyfriend had been in their bedroom, I don't think he would've gone in there and killed them. But who knows.

The other two girls were not harmed. He clearly saw the other girl and said something to her, but chose not to hurt her. I guess he felt he had done what he wanted to do. I still do not understand why they didn't call the cops when she knew she had seen a strange man in the house. Even if drunk, that was very weird behavior. I hope it doesn't come out that any of them might've survived if medical help had gotten there earlier, but I think they all died pretty quickly.

Of course this is just speculation. Past that he was just a really weird pervert, psycho quite frankly. He had had issues with women before and the way he was rude to them and treated them, and I'm sure he was not very popular with women so frustration may have played into it? I saw one thing I believe on the program on Peacock, where a girl had met up with him for a date off of Tinder or something, and said he was very weird and very odd at her house, asked very strange questions and she finally just said she didn't feel good and asked him to leave.

Then he sent her a text message after that saying something very bizarre as well. I can't remember what it was, but it was really weird. I can't figure out why someone even on Tinder looking at a face like that would wanna meet up with him. He's an odd looking dude.

I agree. Has she not just gone down to get the food delivery, I don't think he would've gone in their bedroom. And the boyfriend was asleep. He never saw it coming.

I have no plans to be, but if I was ever sentenced to life in prison, I honestly think I would kill myself. You're talking in some cases, possibly decades of this. Not that I feel sorry for them. Suicide is not anything that I would ever consider doing for any other reason. That's why I find it so odd that so many people fight the death penalty. If I'm truly convicted, I'd rather have the death penalty. Let the automatic appeal go through and then be done with it. But even then, sometimes they get 20-30+ years before they're executed. I think that's ridiculous.

It's understandably a very emotional statement and difficult to listen to at times. The part where she said she had a dream where she finally got to say goodbye really got to me. Also about describing him as a hollow vessel, exactly describing his appearance in court staring off into space trying to pretend he's not hearing anything.

I know this was very difficult for her, but I think is important she said it herself in open court. In front of him. I think she expressed herself very well. She's obviously had almost three years to think about what she was going to say.

I got closure with the plea deal. Don't get me wrong here because I would have been glued to this trial for however long it took. Just to see and hear the evidence. And then the ultimate question about the death penalty (which I support in general, BTW) and how that was played out or not played out in court.

For the people who spoke today, I pray they have a type of closure for themselves. Almost impossible in some respects but hopefully some release.

I was watching EDB's stream and she was having trouble keeping it in. And she has been through hundreds and hundreds of these days, as a prosecutor.

The main reason I watched what I did today was just to see if BK ever looked down, averted his eyes. See if he had an ounce of remorse, or any feeling at all. Any comprehension.

He did not. He will go certifiable at some point in the future, is my prediction. He's been in County detention since December 2022. County ain't like state max security prison. He'll either end up dead, by his own hand, or in a rubber room in a strait jacket is my guess.

State charges. State inmate.

He's in Idaho for the rest of his life.

I thought it was odd that they had victim allocutions prior to sentencing. We do it after sentencing.
