No. History shows that Vance is not likely to separate from his relationship in better standing.

JD Vance is a complicated figure. He's young. He was promoted and funded by Thiel. He has reinvented himself numerous times. And he has shown he can pivot on a dime, change his positions and views as it suits him and his pursuit for fame and power. Even his original claim to fame, of being a poor kid, is maybe not all it claims to be, as Rolling Stone reports.

After reading that, I'm pretty convinced that I grew up much more "poor" than JD.

I personally think having him as the figurehead of the GOP is a huge mistake. And will contribute to the further crumbling and failure of the GOP. He intends to be the heir of the MAGA crown. Isolationist, populist, divisive, cultural warrior, election denier.

JD is a good old-school politician in that he reinvents himself as needed while still staying true to the big things.

If Trump loses (relax, it's still tied), JD is in a good position to take up the mantle in the next election, but DeSantis will be in a better position for the top of the ticket mostly because Trump losing means voters are rebuking Trump's maga ways, and JD will be tied to that. But, like a good politician, I can see him backing away from maga and moving slightly to the left, where DeSantis lives, and giving the right the two best, most conservative choices they've had since Reagan and Poppy.

Just my two cents.

Hopefully the Republican party can realize that their constant attempts to appeal to the extreme right and the Christian Nationals is not a good direction forward. The face of the party imho needs to move to more of what many of us thought the Republican party actually stood for, fiscally sound policies, strong military and not infringing on rights of others. Haley, Christie, Hutchinson and Burgum would all have been a better choice as VP (even though they don't care for Trump). Any of them will be better choices in 28.

I do not think JD Vance survives this election politically if Trump loses.

lol at constant appeal to the extreme right.

Are you talking about the Donald Trump that is pro-choice, pro-union, and has gay people speak at his conventions?

The first R to ever have the Teamsters President speak at his convention?

That extreme right? Also the President that is about as pro-military as we've had which you want.

Do you pay any attention at all to current events?

The Republicans have a long bench for the 2028 election. Vance, DeSantis, Haley, Vivek, Tim Scott?
Glenn Youngkin

And the Dems have Gavin Newsome

trumpism doesn't work without trump, and it would be a (very funny) mistake if after trump lost for the 2nd time in a row republicans decided "you know what? REAL trumpsim has never been tried, let's run it back with someone even less beloved by the base"

Everyone listen to the expert leftist here to inform you what "trumpism" is and explain to you as if the only option remaining after they finally kill off Trump will be to fold up and join the Marxist regime because there will never be support for America first instead of last anti-communist anti-big gov establishment ever again because it's only for trump.

Sorry to say that Vance can't do what Trump does for that base that's voting for Trump bc he's Trump. Those are your populist voters (vs those who consistently vote Republican and long term conservative policies). I also see Vance as swinging away from the harsher things Trump says that his core base loves. If Vance is the heir then we need to be concerned about 2028

What is a "Christian Nationalist", exactly? What defines a Christian Nationalist? I am not familiar with the term, other than as a smear for the deplorable garbage that clings to their guns and their religion. Is that the group of people that you are talking about?

So, gave up on Christian Nationals and went back to Trumpism?

If Trump endorses DeSantis or Vance, you will have the same base without the diarrhea of the mouth problem that Trump has.

You post is nothing except for wishful thinking.

Patriotic Populism is here to stay.

Except Trump did get elected.

And his policies worked. They worked very well.

if Trump loses it won't matter because we will be a one party country and a R will not win in the near future due to D giving citizenship to ILLEGALS.
