if Trump loses it won't matter because we will be a one party country and a R will not win in the near future due to D giving citizenship to ILLEGALS.

Yep, the illegal situation is basically going to turn the entire country into California. Reagan's biggest mistake and will never be unwound.

If Trump wins, Vance is the heir apparent.

If Trump loses, DeSantis is the future.
Sorry to say that Vance can't do what Trump does for that base that's voting for Trump bc he's Trump. Those are your populist voters (vs those who consistently vote Republican and long term conservative policies). I also see Vance as swinging away from the harsher things Trump says that his core base loves. If Vance is the heir then we need to be concerned about 2028
Read Hillbilly Elegy, watch Vance on JRE, and get back to me.

I have not seen one quote by Vance in his run for Senate that does not align pretty closely with Agenda 47, with the possible exception of trade.

Hopefully the Republican party can realize that their constant attempts to appeal to the extreme right and the Christian Nationals is not a good direction forward. The face of the party imho needs to move to more of what many of us thought the Republican party actually stood for, fiscally sound policies, strong military and not infringing on rights of others. Haley, Christie, Hutchinson and Burgum would all have been a better choice as VP (even though they don't care for Trump). Any of them will be better choices in 28.

I do not think JD Vance survives this election politically if Trump loses.
What is a "Christian Nationalist", exactly? What defines a Christian Nationalist? I am not familiar with the term, other than as a smear for the deplorable garbage that clings to their guns and their religion. Is that the group of people that you are talking about?
Mormons are pissed that their guy Romney lost. It stings.
So, are Christian Nationalists limited to Mormons? Not a huge voting block.

If larger than Mormons, who all does it include? What are the policies of a Christian Nationalist?

JD Vance is a complicated figure. He's young. He was promoted and funded by Thiel. He has reinvented himself numerous times. And he has shown he can pivot on a dime, change his positions and views as it suits him and his pursuit for fame and power. Even his original claim to fame, of being a poor kid, is maybe not all it claims to be, as Rolling Stone reports.

After reading that, I'm pretty convinced that I grew up much more "poor" than JD.

I personally think having him as the figurehead of the GOP is a huge mistake. And will contribute to the further crumbling and failure of the GOP. He intends to be the heir of the MAGA crown. Isolationist, populist, divisive, cultural warrior, election denier.

Amusing to see the supporters of Obama, Biden, and Harris rush to tell us how they think JD Vance has changed his positions and doesn't do what he says.

Your concerning concerns are noted.

Hold this L.

Electoral College and Popular Vote Landslide with a electoral mandate along with Senate and House majorities for Donald Trump and Republicans.

Democrats, Liberals, Leftists, CMs, RINOs, and Neocons need to hold this L for the next four years.

trumpism doesn't work without trump, and it would be a (very funny) mistake if after trump lost for the 2nd time in a row republicans decided "you know what? REAL trumpsim has never been tried, let's run it back with someone even less beloved by the base"

Kind of like Socialism and trying it over and over by the Dems…this time it will work.
yes, exactly! doomed from the start

He is not the only one Most have left tail tucked between their legs. Back after the debate one person declared that the whole world was rejecting the move to the right. She was going to come back on election night to rub it in after Kamala won. Not sure where that poster is now.

I have never understood the whole "I grew up poor" as a badge of honor thing. I think that's only a thing that poor people say or politicians say to appeal to poor people.
If you didn't grow up poor, I believe it would genuinely be difficult to understand how much more difficult it is to get on first base than it is to run the bases when your teammates start moving you forward. It's a much more difficult journey from home plate to first than it is from first to home plate.

When you tell someone you grew up poor, they can be genuinely sympathetic but really have no concept of what that really entails most of the time.

I don't think I've seen a single lefty post anywhere on this board since the election except one lib who claimed the left didn't go far enough left and that's why they lost. I wonder if OP thinks the same?

Finally, lots of us on this forum grew up poor….many of us desperately poor. However, when you combine "very poor" with "total family dysfunction"… it greatly multiplies the desperation of the experience.

Cory Mills (FL 7) has a very similar personal history. He donates his entire Congressional salary split between charities for veterans and shelters for battered women. Mills is very candid about the fact that he was raised by his grandparents because his parents were substance addicted and in the prison system. His dad spent 32 years in prison and his mom was in prison for seven. I am really glad he won reelection by a 12 point margin.

Well we did lose a few along the way. A couple of the larger trucks got bogged down in the mud and we had to shove something under the tires so they just wouldn't spin in deeper. Will try to be more careful Sir, we know your records are important.
