I hope you understand what this means. You may have the biggest houses and nicest cars paid by the American taxpayer, but you'll never be able to enjoy them. Putin lets nothing go.

I'd say too bad, but instead: **** off.

If you take this as pro-Putin, then that's your problem. I'm just sick of paying for Zelensky's luxuries.
Well…you sounded taller on radio.

Trump was the first to authorize lethal aid for Ukraine. He also gave Speaker Johnson the green light on the latest aid package. Trump also loves american businesses, which includes the MIC.

Zelensky will be fine and well funded going forward.

It's one thing to not want to send our money overseas. It's a whole other thing to cheer on Putin. This is just… well there really are no words.

Ukrainian people are probably happier than anyone. Maybe now they can stop dying in an endless war.

Probably so, because Trump will also recognize and reign in all our meddling that destablized things before as well as be pretty clear what the limits of an action are. Not any "it depends on the amount of incursion."

Had we used our vast leverage properly before-hand, the invasion would not have happened. But the uniparty never acted like they really wanted to end the Cold War.

That's what will change too.

The most immediate change may be Mideast. Iran may call of its planned attack on Israel.

We're often told that no one supports Russia, they just support stopping sending money to Ukraine.

Then, some of them say the quiet part out loud...

Trump is not isolationist. He just doesn't like fighting stupid pointless forever wars that don't need to be fought out of weakness and indecisiveness.

He's already said that hostilities will have to cease and serious negotiations take place to end the war in pragmatic terms. Ukraine will have to be willing to bargain territory and Russia will have to be serious or Trump might actually give Ukraine a flood of resources they can begin to win decisively with.

No more just feeding cash and men into a pointless waste. I hope he follows through and forces a real decisive end to it.

By the time he takes office I'm betting there's a ceasefire largely along current lines in Ukraine and by next summer there will be a peace deal in place with Ukraine joining NATO and formally ceding Crimea and other areas in the east to Russia.

Great, no more people dying in that case and no more money being thrown down the drain. Win/Win

I will never begrudge anyone resisting an actual invading force of literal savages who want to erase you and your culture from the face of the world forever. The one unalienable right I figured we could all agree on is the right to self defense and to protect our women and children. Wild to see TA'ers cheer on a communist dictator to pillage and plunder all that he sees.

Man, lots of folks here painting with awfully broad brushes.

One person doesn't equate to everyone who posts here.

And lots of people here call protecting our sovereign nation from an actual invasion by savages who want to erase the USA "racism", and nary a peep.

Exactly. There was nothing "isolationist" about Soeliamani. In fact, it was scary brazen -- reminding of Reagan's Tripoli attack.

Hmm. If anything might make it work, that's it. But it might make sense to offer NATO membership *also* to Russia. Just declare its role has changed to a defense of Northern hemisphere against radicalism; either Maoist or Islamist.

Because whatever we say -- NATO is a military alliance. You need to defuse that impression - Turkey is a simiilar precedent that still somewhat works.

Americans lecturing anyone about endless wars. That's rich. Sometimes our sense of self awareness is frighteningly out of touch. And to think the Ukrainians are going to be happy at the prospect of having to hand over vast swaths of their territory is another example of being frighteningly out of touch.

I'm refraining from posting on this stuff today for the most part but the truth is a peace deal is not that hard to achieve. Trump needs to refrain from getting into trouble talking to Putin etc. before he is sworn in though. He knows his every utterance/breath is monitored by the intelligence community.

The use of 'Ukraine' and Russia for the next impeachment BS is something he can avoid, if he chooses to. He can't conduct foreign policy just because he is the president elect.

Ukraine has Iran levels of oil underground and never exploited.

This just in: that's one of the things this election was about.

The Ukrainians are of course free to decline any mediation from the President-elect, but I don't see why if they do so that we have to pay for it.

Which is why ceding those areas to Russia is a non-starter right now.

If that's the case, and Trump is willing to flood the zone with arms, this thing could be over in a matter of months.

THIS for sure.

They have already shown not especially loyal to national interest so much as the more global WF style interests and control.

Bottom line President Trump will save live here and the best solution will be the way forward.
