Wish could have a Republican as aggressive as a Dem Hill leader to lead the Senate. Why always having to settle for go-alongs. (Now Thune don't really know- so more a general observation)

I'm not a huge Cornyn fan but I've heard that on the politics side of things he's top notch.

There's a lot of gamesmanship to be played at that position and he's excel at it

Perhaps in the end that aspect is so important at that level it trumps other considerations. Very well. As long as he doesn't have some obsession with compromise for its own sake like that "bipartisan border" bill that would have stripped Texas right of control among other things.

Cornyn's better on policy than a lot of people here give him credit for, he's just an unimpressive speaker who has sounded like he just woke up from a nap since the first time he ran for AG.

Considering how much time the Majority Leader spends in front of the press, I'd like to see someone who can discuss policy with a little bit of caffeine in their system.

Cornyn has consistently sold conservatives down the river all for the sake of compromise without ever getting anything of value in exchange. I have zero faith that he would push to advance conservative policies if there is even a hint of push back from his dem senate buddies. As much as we talk about how conservatives are their own worst enemies while dems march in lockstep to advance their agenda, Cornyn is the poster child for that.


...and then there is that terrible brisket.

Well because a guy like Ted wouldn't ever have gotten these judges approved and Rowe would still be standing.

This board used to hate cocaine Mitch but turns out hes done more to advance conservative agenda than almost anyone. Turns out the senate isn't about being a good podcast host. You actually need to get stuff done
