Cornyn and thune are pretty clearly rhinos who have a history of supporting and advancing very squishy bills and policies.

They appear to be the next in line. The voters are very clearly starving for newer leadership that's not filled by dudes who are simply there because it's there "time."

I don't need the leader to be rand Paul, though that'd be awesome. It would be great if we could get our own version of a Pelosi, someone who could be reliably depended on to default to conservatism and not old school GOPism

2) Budget
3) Guns
4) Immigration
5) Military complex
6) China

Aside, I'm curious what Thune and Cornyn's conservative ratings were before they got into leadership positions.

There's plenty of other things for JD to do, but I'll take JD all day over a RINO that's been so outwardly hostile to Trump and MAGA both. I know this is a bit ironic, given JD's history. The difference is that he's clearly all-in now.

I reluctantly voted Trump in '16, was eager to vote for him in '20, and would have crawled over broken glass to vote for him this cycle, so I'm not holding their 8 year old tweets against them nearly as much as I am their RINO voting record, position on MAGA issues, and connection to Mitch.

Ugh, not a fan at all but happy to have him prove me wrong. The last thing we need to do is love the new tent folks because some RINO is in the way of progress. If he behaves like Mitch last cycle, then JD for Majority Leader is the move.

Help Trump do the job we elected him to do. Don't be a thorn in his side. But somehow, I'm not confident this guy will do what we need him to do.

In the meantime, can we please grow some balls here in Texas and primary Cornyn in 2026?

When the new senators are seated, they need to try and force another vote.

Thune is better than Cornyn, IMO. He had the support of guys like Mullins and others who are close to Trump. If they weren't going with Scott he's the best shot at being the bridge builder between the two wings of the party.

I choose to be on the side of hope that the houses of congress will work to enact the mandate that was just given. But I will be watching and if they don't will work very hard to unseat every one of them that threw up roadblocks and worked to subvert the people.
