They've been in jail 4 years, their lives ruined. How are you coming up with the idea that a pardon means no repercussions. That's insane.

And yes, I think they should all be 100% pardoned and released.

Joe pardoned his mafia family, his crackhead son, and commuted sentences for people that raped children.

If you think that people who were invited into the Capitol who walked around for a few minutes deserve more in the gulag, you're a piece of *****

Good to know that you think people that assaulted law enforcement should get to go free with no repercussions.

I've already made my opinion on those that walked around for a few minutes known.

Many cops got assaulted during riots, many people didnt get charged for assault. I bet you werent here saying they should go to jail.

No, I think they should.

Then they get time served. I'm just glad that you're now concerned about pre-trial incarceration.

Why were they denied bail?

I don't know. There are factors, flight risk is one of them. But you'd have to look at each individual case to find out why. And I'm not doing that for you.

Im sure you can search your own old posts. Its convenient to say it 4.5 later, but you had to have said it back then. Right?

The people who threw actual fire bombs at police in New York City (who were lawyers) served no jail time.

True. If a cop comes blasting through my door executing a search warrant and they're at the wrong house, I would hope that a jury would be on my side because I thought I was being robbed.

Neither here nor there, but it can be stipulated that some Capitol Police were certainly assaulted. Don't deny that it starts looking inane. What you have to look at closer though, are catalysts like gassing and flash bombs, and what planted provocateurs (like the infamous excused example) had first threatened and stirred the police up with. Much of it before the speech was even over and all still far away, a major tell.

It's really disgusting that you're defending this bull***** I hope to God nothing like this ever happens to you.

Trump was right when he called them hostages that's exactly what they have been.

Every single one of them should be released. Period.

I'm embarrassed for you.

I'm embarrassed for you that you think people that assaulted law enforcement officers should be released carte blanche.
The cops that I know think they should be released.

Law enforcement assaulted the Capitol visitors shooting ballistic tear gas cans directly at citizens. Only law enforcement crying assault documented were the poons. Crybabies.

We could argue about the facts of any particular prosecution... but it's a moot point because every single one of those defendants was denied due process and a legitimate jury.

They are (or were, in most cases by now hopefully) political prisoners held in gulags for the purpose of terrorizing the rest of us into submission.

WTAF is going on? The communists in DC must really want Trump to focus on them. Maybe it's just 'a process' that takes several days, but maybe not.
Quote:

The presidential pardon should lead to the immediate release of those incarcerated. According to one jail employee, the process of releasing individuals following a pardon typically takes several days and is not instantaneous.

Despite the uncertainty, the families and friends outside the detention facility held onto hope. They waited to see if their loved ones would walk out of the jail's doors, marking what they described as a significant victory for justice and reform.

I see a couple were released finally at around midnight. Free the hostages. Today.

People that assaulted cops and vandalized the Capital need to stay in jail. The rest have paid their price.

And yes, the people that assaulted cops and vandalized buildings during the Floyd riots need to be in jail, too. Most of that was state crime, so good luck. Federal crimes should all be treated the same (like the federal courthouse that was vandalized)..

I honestly did not pay attention to that day closely. How many people committed assault on police officers? Not pushing matches because of the size of the crowd, but truly swung fist and or kicked the officer?

Yeah this kind of blanket statement is not wise in my opinion. Especially when it's been proven there were federal operatives trying to rally people to do illegal actions.

Totally against any J6ers in prison due to federal entrapment. Release them all.

No, the Floyd rioters who assaulted police officers and did vandalism and arson could also be charged with a Federal Crime. Plenty of different laws on the books they could use during a riot.

And they were not charged. This is why ALL J6 hostages should be released.

How about credit for time served?

Dems are letting murders walk free in blue cities and you want someone who spray painted a wall at the capitol building locked up for 4+ years?

Since a lot of them were traveling from state to state to foment the violence, definitely a federal crime that Bill Barr chose not to enforce (with one exception to my memory, he did arrest the people running the food truck operations to feed the rioters moving from state to state,)

To anyone still defending pretrial detention without the possibility of bail for Jan 6th protesters, just stop crapping on the Constitution.

Glad I lived long enough to see some of these travesties of justice finally corrected.

No question that they are political prisoners and have been treated as such. While such behavior at other places were dismissed.
And there is a reason Joe pardon the committee for destroying that would have proven innocent.
1500 persons incarcerated for the actions of a few dozen.
