Kash is most important of those three IMO. The job he has before him will have the most impact.

Tulsi and RFK are highly qualified for the specific jobs Trump promised them in exchange for their support as former Dem POTUS candidates and deserve to be confirmed, and I'd love to see what RFK can do with a MAHA mandate, but there should be others that can do those jobs whereas I don't think there's anyone more suited to wreck the FBI than Kash and wrecking the FBI is one of the greatest and most impactful things that needs to happen.

Hold up now!

Trump did not promise either of these people (or anyone) any specific job in exchange for their support!

They supported Trump, and he evaluated the potential people and decided to nominate these two! The suggestion there was some quid pro quo is false!

not so fast my friend

it's just the committee vote

he still has to go through the entire Senate voting in 30 hours
Correct me if I'm wrong here. Even if the committee had not voted for him in the majority, does a cabinet post still go on to the full Senate? I thought I remember reading that somewhere once.

From what I understand, they can send to the Senate floor with one of three options (recommended, not recommended, no recommendation) or they can simply not vote on it in committee which essentially mothballs the nomination.

he's been litigating against entities companies and industries that poison Americans for decades, from mercury to fluoride to big pharma and processed foods. He's genuinely passionate about health and the chronic diseases Americans are facing in its population. He can do some good in this role.

Has anyone heard when the full senate vote is expected to take place?

You are ignoring the political realignment which occurred in 2024 because of MAHA

and if we completely incorporate MAHA into MAGA then that is a governing coalition which can win many elections moving forward.

there are actually very FEW nominees like RFK who really know how to rip out the Deep State.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. cleared a key hurdle Tuesday after a Senate panel voted to advance his nomination to be health and human services secretary to the full chamber.

In a 14-13 vote along party lines, the Senate Finance Committee pushed through Kennedy's nomination after he managed to allay concerns raised by Sen. Bill Cassidy, R-La.

Cassidy, a doctor, was the one potential swing vote on the panel. Last week, he signaled that he held serious reservations over whether Kennedy was qualified to lead the vast agency, saying he was "struggling" with his decision after questioning him at two confirmation hearings. In addition to the Finance Committee, Cassidy serves as chair of the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee.

Any word on if the vote will be today, and if so what time? Seems like it's really hard to find info on these vote schedules.

Fetterman will call out his side for some of the over the top crap they do, especially in supporting Hamas.

That earns him a tiny amount of respect. Doesn't mean he isn't a staunch leftist otherwise.

At some point I REALLY have to hope that Collins & Murkowski get their leashes yanked by Senate leadership. Let them play their little games or whatever, even with Hegseth where we knew Vance could break the tie, but by God you vote Yes on these two or NOTHING you sponsor will see the light of day.

I have concluded that the Democrats pull their officials into an office. They play one of two cards.

1. They show them all the dirt they have on them. Things that would ruin their life.

If they can't do 1:

2. They show them the candidate that they are going to use to primary them. Someone they have no shot against.

They walk out and vote how they want them to vote.

So, of the "controversial" nominees, who officially gets confirmed this week? Tulsi? RFK? Patel?

Agree with this 1000%. The FBI needs to be completely gutted and overhauled. Between the woke BLM/LGBTQ pandering bullsh**, sending a team of 15 to investigate a "noose" hanging from a Nascar garage door, 2020 election interference, and putting good conservative people in their crosshairs as potential "domestic terrorists"...they are lucky they will just be fired and won't face physical harm.

This is how they are viewed now. Rightly so. An embarrassment and a disgrace.

Looks like Gabbard and RJK are up first. Dems are playing games and dragging things out on Kash as long as they can.

Quote:

Senate GOP leaders are prioritizing confirmation votes for former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (Hawaii) and Robert F. Kennedy Jr., two of Trump's more controversial Cabinet picks.

Tonight, the Senate will vote to invoke cloture on Gabbard's nomination to be the director of national intelligence. Gabbard, once seen as the most at-risk nominee, won over Sens. Susan Collins (R-Maine) and Todd Young (R-Ind.) last week to advance out of the Senate Intelligence Committee.
Gabbard is unlikely to be defeated on the floor, although GOP Sens. John Curtis (Utah) and Mitch McConnell (Ky.) are two swing votes to watch.

If cloture is invoked, it would set up a confirmation for Gabbard late Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning, given the 30 hours of post-cloture time required. We don't expect Democrats to yield back any of that time.

After Gabbard, the Senate will turn to confirm Kennedy to lead the Health and Human Services Department. Kennedy convinced a top critic, Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-La.), to back him in committee and seems on track to be confirmed. McConnell, a childhood survivor of polio, isn't likely to vote for Kennedy. But we don't see four GOP 'no' votes on Kennedy, especially given Cassidy will be a 'yes.'
Quote:

The other big confirmation news this week will take place inside the Senate Judiciary Committee. The panel will vote Thursday on Kash Patel's nomination to be FBI director. Democrats were able to delay the nomination for a week under Judiciary Committee rules. But Patel looks ready to be moved forward despite new reports about his financial holdings in foreign companies, including Chinese fashion brand Shein and a Russian filmmaker with Kremlin ties.
