I wouldn't call it a huge injustice, but I do think the firing is a little harsh. Give them a warning, put a note in their file, and move on. Or as I like to say, give them a little grace this time, and if they repeat that nonsense or cause any other trouble, tell them they were warned and let them go. Full disclosure - I'm at Hat Creek all the time, usually with a herd of kids running around.

Rare that someone gets fired for missing a day of work. There's most likely a list of reasons glossed over for the article.

I feel for them, but not a fan of the burger. They are small and expensive for something that is a forgettable burger.

I went to the Hat Creek in Katy the other day and it was pretty solid. Great shake

Maybe, but I think there are still enough red blooded burger eaters that will support. Austin is a weird place, but I've done business with some damn fine Ags and others there that are cool.

Hat Creek has always been awesome. Nice hit piece from Austin Chronicle which looks like it ignored some details. This is actually my Hat Creek location, think I'll go there tonight...

Hat Creek is my honey hole, for fishing that is. It starts from Mt Lassen in the Cascade mountains of CA way up north starting with purest of pure snow melt spring and flows north up towards Mt Shasta. Then it flips around falls through Burney Falls and into Shasta reservoir down to Sacramento River and to the SF Bay to feed them Delta Smelts.

Hat Creek runs over 20 miles and some sections are designated as Wiild Trout water with trophy trout.

I know this river like the back of my hand. Probably one of the least fished trout stream as it's hard to get to but just 1:15 from my house.

And some of you jackasses want to sell CA to Denmark?

It was written into my employee manual that I assumed you quit if you failed to ship up for work. I did not intend to pay unemployment first no shows.
