I think they're bypassing the TREC and fair housing rules by saying "anyone can live here" knowing damn well nobody in their right mind would.

I think it would be hilarious for someone with a lot of money to buy a house, adorn it in Pride flags and make it just gay as hell, and see how they deal with it.

Mom was on the Lovejoy school board for 20 years. She/we moved to Lucas in 1984 from Plano.
To say that Lucas has changed is a dramatic understatement, probably of all time. WHat was once a far away outpost of Dallas is now a bedroom community of $1m homes. So this does not surprise me, but it doe remind me that the Texas of my 1970s childhood has forever been replaced. Not for the better.

I live very close to the place. I don't know much about it other than traffic gets really bad on 14th Street when they have a function there. I also know that EPIC stands for East Plano Islamic Center.

Yes, see the links at jihad watch dot org to track it. They are not good people, imho. You might take some comfort from the fact that they are unlikely to actually launch terrorist attacks from/within/right at their core base there.

The members who want to live nearby the school/gym/mosque etc. for convenience though…are not people I would want as neighbors, long term. I've watched (online) what they teach/say there and it is viscerally angering to me.

I still don't understand how it is legal but assume they are using every rule they can. You CANNOT buy a lot unless you invest and have a share in a private group. To join the private group you must be approved by the Imam. I am sure there is some work around they are using but can you imagine a Catholic Christian only neighborhood or any other full restricted neighborhood? It would be in court and ripped apart in the news no matter how ruled on. I assume by keeping it investment only they are getting around the rules and it is ridiculous.
