It sounds like Trump's EO was overarching to ALL probationary employees. Some departments have been hiring workers due to high turnover with retirements. I've been a DOE contractor for the navy for 9 years and have seen so much turnover that our employee demographics went from double-humped to predominantly new employees. We desperately want to hire more because there is more work than workers to perform it.

Some programs and departments in DOE and DOD are critical to maintain readiness of military assets.

I was told all these jobs are waste? You're telling me there's real work to be done? That maybe some nuance to the firings is in order?

Yeah, that's a trolling sentence, but the points within are real. I'm certain what you've said is true. Hell, if the GOP was smart they'd take the time given by these LiBruL judges pausing his EOs to actually get their ducks in order of who should and shouldn't be culled (like your openings). Win win, get the reee on TV about the judges while doing what they should have done from the start.

You're angry because jobs related to maintaining and securing nukes might be something we shouldn't immediately eliminate? Wild. Sometimes I wonder if Trump took a piss in a glass and called it apple juice how many people on F16 would ask for seconds.

DOD can handle the job. DOE is a waste of money.

The point of this Shock and Awe is to shake the entire structure of government and see what precipitates out. Look at who reacts to what. You can learn a lot from that. It certainly helps in determining who might need to be fired and who doesn't.
The best way to keep evil men from wielding great power is to not create great power in the first place.

Going back to original article, it sounds like this pause is only for 1 agency. If you don't know, the pits inside nuclear weapons have a shelf-life, and the U.S. needed to refurbish them to maintain readiness of our strategic deterrent. I believe that this is the agency that is primarily handling that work.

You would be correct.

The outrage this thread is trying to create is misplaced this time.
"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves." - Sir Winston Churchill

They threw out the baby with the bath water. Rather than targeting divisions within agencies and the high paid folks at the head, they took out young trainees in the field…….ive sen this before with the opposite results of what they intended. I can pay 2 GS7 range conservationists working 1 on 1 with farmers for what a SES "Equity Coordinator" in Washington costs. Guess which one still has a job?

Eliminating the department who runs the nuclear arsenal. Exactly what I'd expect. Lmao can't make this up. Fire every watchdog or oversight person. Pardoning New York City mayor Adams who got caught taking bribes in corruption. lol Pardoning every random corrupt crook

The 50 year old conservative scholar created blueprint for reestablishing Constitutional Originalism which requires cutting the size and scope of the federal government by cutting waste fraud and abuse is going to be very similar to the actions of a presidential Administration trying to cut the size of the federal government by trying to eliminate waste fraud and abuse.

Having been a research contributor to the 2000 version of the blueprint, I can honestly say that while there are general similarities, there are sadly many things Trump won't do from the blueprint, but all of our grandchildren and great grandchildren(regardless of political worldview) would be much better off if he did with Congress and the Judicial Branch getting behind a plan to preserve the Republic and create a sustainable financial future for the American public.

The government handed nukes over to DOE, decades ago. Don't like it, talk to Congress
