I am thoroughly convinced that med ads are bribes by big pharma to the media outlets. No way in hell those ads actually produce more sells but main stream media isn't gonna talk bad about or do any investigative reports against their biggest sponsors.

Young gay guy sees commercials: "Sweet! New drugs so I can have even more sex with random guys! And now I don't have to worry about getting HIV! No consequences!"

Walks into doctors office: "Hey doc, I have sex with random guys every night and I've had a small worry about getting HIV. I want this new drug that makes me invincible!"

Doctor, thinking to himself...I get lots of bribes for prescribing this new medication and this guy wouldn't have come in otherwise and now he comes in asking for it when otherwise I wouldn't have had the opportunity to push it: "Sure, ill get that script sent over right away! I don't care about your promiscuous lifestyle anyway, so this is a win for everyone!"

Drug company: "Score!"

Non gay TV viewers: "****! Not this **** again!"

Drug companies aren't paying media because they think the advertisement will generate more income than the cost of the ad.

They are paying media ad revenue so they don't run negative stories about them and their drugs.

See 2020-2024 if you need proof. Media runs cover for big pharma and so do Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders,et al
