Disagree. That refund can help fund what could become increased revenues in the future that will pay MORE debt.
The only times we've REALLY decreased taxes in this country, at least in recent history, was the early '60s under JFK and 20 years later under Reagan. Both times, we saw huge economic booms that were interrupted by tax INCREASES later. The tax reform act of '86, disguised as a cut, and in some ways it may have been, was a defacto increase due to what it did to passive real estate losses and other so-called loophole changes. It took us a decade to get out of that mess.
If Trump can foster a JFK/Reagan type economic boom, we'll see 12+ years of Republican administrations.
