I am confident that I have posted how open carry is dumb for many reasons.

I take most of that back. While I still think it is nobody's business knowing I am packing heat, open carry has become more of a thing since the adoption of the 1911 and the tactical holster positioned under the waistline more on the thigh.

I will say, since the open carry became an actual thing, nobody (not in a literal sense) does it.

This. The only time I have done it is at the ranch with a snake gun on my hip doing work outside. Just in case.

Typically you want to make sure the blood drains to the street. It's bad for your lawn to leave it there. Too much iron.

I see it all the time in west TX. But most around here aren't the type of people to make a big deal of it. I don't open carry, but no one I interact with on a daily basis would be offended if I did. Granted most are farmers and ranchers, oilies can't usually due to company rules.

In all that time, I have literally only seen one man that I can recall open carrying...and that was some 20-something y/o male walking his dog up the median of Heights Blvd in Houston very shortly after open carry was passed. I know there are theoretical cons to open carrying, but I am dabbling with the idea of it just based on comfort alone. Kind of hesitant to be "that guy" in public though, as virtually no one does it. But i also give less of a F in general, with each passing day.

They also said it would be Dodge City on steroids if we passed constitutional carry. Is there anything the godless liberal cretins don't lie or spread irrational fear about? I just can't imagine CONSTANTLY being proven dead wrong and still parroting the party narratives like a brainwashed religious zealot. F em.

I've considered amending our O&G lease to cover that. It currently allows ZERO firearms on operators or subcontractors persons or vehicles.
Since there have been several instances where the current MO to wait at closed gate and rob gauger and hijack his clothes, boots, phone, and vehicle is wets and coyotes new deal. Maybe we should insist that these folks carry so that if their employer disagrees and they get hurt or worse, I have tried to CMA.

In my small town, I know two who open carry.

One seems to do it all the time, but is fairly quiet about it. From what I'm told, he did get in trouble for open carrying to high school sports events.

The other is more of a drama queen. When he does it,it is almost as if he is saying "hey, look at me".

I've seen three.

All three were old white dudes who looked like they were trying to be John Wayne and were opening carrying a revolver.

Funniest one was the guy with the Colt Anaconda on his hip.
