Family got Swatted, which in my mind should be attempted murder. Using government resources to attempt to get something to go wrong on a police raid in the middle of the night and resulting in the death of a family member or police officer should absolutely be considered murder. It just happens to be one of the most cowardly form of it.

Agree. It was the correct Christian response. And it probably was motivated by a desire to avoid further endangering his family. Imagine if he had come out and expressed anger or a desire for retribution in any way. He would have put a target on the backs of his entire family.
