I know that Robert Jeffress from First Baptist Dallas has spent a good deal of time with President Trump. I am beyond confident that Dr. Jeffress has clearly communicated, Billy Graham style, the gospel message to him.

After being with Dr. Jeffress, there is zero chance Trump's understanding of the matter is not crystal clear. I have had a hope that Trump has accepted Jesus as his savior so I have the tendency to listen when he starts speaking on the subject. That Easter message sure makes it sound like he has become a believer. You also have to think he has to be somewhat neutral with his word choices as he is also communicating to citizens that may be unbelievers.

I can't stand senior global pastor jeffress

He's nothing but a great advertiser/marketer/salesman and most importantly a CEO. He wears many hats and has created a conglomerate in the name of religion. It has spawned even more theatrical "nondenom" copies that they then compete and copy, gradually.

I just can't get over the fact that my grandparents have given him so much money that it would make most people sick. Yet grandparents haven't even been able to sit down and talk with him like a regular person for 5 minutes because you have to maintain this image that you're elusive and too busy for those who donate so that others will donate even more.
I hope I clearly communicated how I understand and to a degree, agree with your perspective on Dr. Jeffress. But if you want to see the good side of him, and perhaps understand why your grandparents support him so much, listen to his Easter message from today. Ol' Robert delivered the mail today.

For all of his negatives, he also is reminds me of the Judges, particularly Gideon. He is a slight man in physical appearance, is not particularly attractive, has an unauthoritative voice - really no earthy reason to be leading this church. But that guy preaches the gospel message in a very direct manner with a profound boldness that is to be admired. I think that's the man your grandparents see.

John 14:6 is as clear as it gets.

Okay, but Bible is an edited collection of stories. See Constantine, King James and various popes for more detail on this.

I have no issue with those who take every word of the Bible, though translated via the world's longest game of telephone to now be something that cannot be further understood, edited or challenged.

But it's a bit absurd to call someone a non-believer because you have a different take. I can promise you without question that the God I know is the God of the Bible.

I can also promise that no earthly man (or woman) has been ordained to be able to judge otherwise.

Believe as you want, my faith has a bit different of a path but I don't doubt that I may see you and others past the gates of pearl.

On Dubya… its sort of crazy that many "conservatives" lambasted Trump's sins and absolutely ignore W's transgressions, which to some may surpass anything Trump did from philandering, drinking, and other questionable behavior including business dealings.

I think the long story on Iraq war and WMDs rests much more on the establishment intelligence community along with "unfinished business" from 41's term and W was essentially an NPC when it came to international policy.

Recall that was his weakest area and the Colins and Condis and Cheney were supposed to be the bench for that area. Then 09/11 and the stakes went vertical north.

I would lay the soldiers lost at the feet of the "deep state" more than anyone else.

That said, he was POTUS and he is a son of a POTUS so there aren't many excuses left for him.

Just so we understand that is not what the Constitution says. Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof."

Important to remember history here and Church of England and Catholic interference / influence in foreign governments.

It's not about keeping religion out of politics. It's about not letting religion be a 4th branch of government and having a defined influence.

In fact, it is well documented that the FFs preferred a moral compass based on a faith of some sorts.

Libs like to think it means all must swear an oath to atheism in order to be respected.

Most libs, agnostic, and even some fundamentally religious people butcher the intention of the wall of separation between church and state. The letters of correspondence between the Danbury Baptist Association and Thomas Jefferson should be mandatory reading in grade school curriculum. I definitely don't want the government to impose legislation over ecclesiastical matters, but certainly agree that Godly tenets of Christianity should impact the culture (including government institutions).

I think two things can be true. So I can agree wholeheartedly with the above statement AND reiterate that the United States is not a theocracy and we don't have a national religion.

Trump - or any POTUS - can make statements about Christianity. That doesn't make them any more or less qualified to lead this country. We are not a theocracy. The POTUS doesn't have to be a Christian. Our founding fathers specifically said they didn't want a religious test to hold public office.

Yourself and the two stars can kindly eff off. He does not represent the gospel.

I know the dude's fam. Pretty well. I just spent a weekend with his daughter and son-in-law at a friend wedding in Dallas. His daughter was in the wedding and he officiated.

No, just no. I'll leave it at that for politeness. They are not humble, grace or kindness led. Billy G, he is not. Not even in the same universe.

I voted for the man 3 times, but from my perspective he's spiritually corrupt. The man cheats on his wives with porn stars. I have nothing in common with the man and I find very little virtue in him.

W and Trump share a significant failing in common. Both incorrectly assumed the deep state would be patriotic in nature and trusted them to be that. That has been proven to hardly be the case.

IMO, W cannot be judged vs his contemporary peers. 9/11 was a game changer that no other POTUS has had to deal with since Pearl Harbor. If you, mr critic, had stood on that pile of rubble, I bet you'd not be willing to assume a middle east adversary was worthy of the benefit of the doubt either.

Sure. He was a raging drunk for years and has always had a playboy personality. But sure, he kept it zipped up.

About as believable as WMDs buried just outside Baghdad.

I am certain you can find the Wikipedia page on him, get your own copy of Decision Points, or find the numerous articles on the matter.

All well known and documented, including his religious "awakening" around 40 that led to him abandoning his sinning ways.

Regardless, why do I need to justify Trump's sins? From what I know, there is not a ranking of type and amount of sins when you get to the gates of pearl, but what is in your heart and for Christians you acceptance of Jesus as your savior.

Now how you are able to rank W higher than Trump on your Holy POTUS charts seems to be personal task for you and have at it.
