I have heard very little from her as of late and don't follow what she's up to, but happened to hear an interview with her last weekend. I think she clearly stated that she has nothing against Jewish people, but believes "antisemitism" has essentially been used to suppress any criticism of the government of Israel. A lot of Jews even agree with that…It's worth a discussion at the very least.

I would buy that she's an antisemite based on her specific antisemitic and pro-Hitler comments that go back a long way. Lots of antisemites latch on to the Palestinian cause because they genuinely hate Jews. It's perfectly fair to put her in that category.

But the one thing she's right about is that anti-Israel sentiment has been conflated with antisemitism in order to deflect and discredit legitimate criticism of Israel. When the response to that opinion is "that's just something antisemites say," it kind of proves the thesis.

I'm really critical of Israel but there is an element of the right currently that is really antiemetic, weirdly so. From what I can tell it stems from this wings view of Christianity. Had a talk with a family member in January and was shocked to learn people are actually believing this stuff. Essentially the view was that God had given the Jews over to a depraved heart and they are essentially behind every societal ill. 9/11, Trans movement were examples.

Maybe I'll start a thread about antisemitism vs antizionism and we can all try to get to the bottom of this.

I don't doubt that, but I'm not sure I'd put Owens in that category. She just doesn't strike me as particularly devout. Most Christians who feel this way about Jews feel the same way about Muslims. They couldn't care less if Israel wipes out what's left of Gaza. But Owens is pretending to care about Palestinian rights. Seems grifty.

Another thing to keep in mind is that she thinks "space is fake." It's hard to blame any particular religion for the emergence of such a belief. Christ, even Scientologists believe in space.

I really respected her a few years ago. She's lost her damn mind though especially with her Jew hatred and hatred of Israel.

Campus and CO stuff aside, they are max pushing for free speech suppression where they can find creases and cracks. Both parties - if you believe free speech should be suppressed or illegal then we can just disagree right there.

College kids protesting is fine, college kids hurting someone is not fine. Allowing the government to decide what speech is illegal and what is not - sure that will work it's always worked.

We just fcking lived through them trying to max punish Covid deniers and here we are again with this type of bs. Government needs to stay out of free speech period. They need to arrest people for breaking actual laws. We can't even do the later.
