I was not originally a huge fan of his selection as SOS, but man was I wrong. I hope he stays in that position for all four years. He may give Vance a run for his money in '28.

Rubio has come a long way from his response to the state of the union years ago…I questioned his selection, but IMO, he has hit it out of the park and his response to Hollen was perfect.

i think marco rubio has many of th skills necessary to be president of the united states. i don't think anyone really questions his political talent, the question has always been at least to me where his loyalties stand. he felt a little swampy and still may be. but so far he has done a nice job for trump.

If that Senator gave us much of a crap about his constituents and not about some foreign Visa student that was a dumbass, we'd be in a much better place.

Marco is clearly doing a good job!

He is a very skilled public speaker in front of an audience and he is very good at conveying the message he wants to get across. I also have been impressed. I know he might not personally always agree with Trump's policies but he has been reliable and consistent in voicing the policy, which has been good to see.

Agree with this 100% but he appears to be not swampy so far.

Why did they not cut that senators microphone? Clearly was just trying to score cheap fundraiser jabs in at a high ranking administration official.

Rubio or Vance would be excellent presidents. I personally prefer Rubio as he hasn't shown as much populist tendencies, but I'd be happy with either.

Rubio made a turn away from the swamp a few years ago and went towards true conservativism. Jesse Kelly pinpointed that time, but I can't remember.

While it's understandable to be wary of his swampy past, the last few years have been good.

And every other country in the world, every single one, treats it as such.

I wish they would have.

It was hilarious how he defended his use of his time the way he wanted. Fine, but now your time is up, so shut up.

OP read my mind.

I was never a big fan of Rubio previously. Maybe I didn't have the proper perspective.

He appears to be made for this role and is exceeding my expectations. I will replay the segment of him eviserating Van Hollings (whose face was beet red) whenever I need a lift!

Rubio made a big mistake as a junior senator by allowing himself to be too influenced by McCain, Gang of 8, and all of that. I think over time he realized it wasn't winning him any friends in the GOP nor voters in Florida and quietly moved away from it. He's been pretty darn solid in the last number of years.

Fun fact. Marco Rubio is banned from entering China by the CCCP due his very vocal admonishment of commies. That's quite a badge of honor IMO. It's right up there with marrying a Miami Dolphins cheerleader.

His testimony today on the reason a Ukraine / Russian deal is at in impass is the most logical thing that's been said by the state department in a while.

"Russian wants (and can't get) something it has no right to, and Ukraine wants something it can't win back by force".

No crap. I wish he'd fill Trump in.

Has far exceeded expectations.

Still haven't decided on him as capable of being the HMFIC versus having a ceiling of being a great XO.

Van Hollen is trying to prop himself up as the fighter for the Dems and is getting slapped around by a presidential candidate that was removed by the current president when Trump first won the nomination against the field.

Getting blasted by the runner up to the runner up to the runner up is awesome. If the republicans can just not step on their own selves over the next few years, the Dems are looking at some pretty inept leadership.

He's come a LONG way from nervously sipping his water after Obama's 2013 SOTU. I'm VERY pleased with him so far and think he's doing a terrific job.

Speaking of coming a long way, Rubio is MILES better than Tillerson and Pompeo. So far Trump has hit it out of the park with this pick.

Van Hollen got dragged? Yep. A well-deserved dragging.

Well done Rubio... well done.
