It was great seeing that turd Van Hollen trying to get the last word and he got bagged.

Bravo Rubio... bravo.

A guy I think most conservatives couldn't have cared less about as well. What a surprise in a good way. Now if the others would get it going that would be great.

I voted for Rubio in the 2016 primary. In retrospect, I'm glad Trump beat him and think he's becoming more staunch as facilitator of a Trump administration: which is good. I've since come to think that a potential president should really have a successful governorship on his resume - not just a successful senator. But the guy still has some skills.

That was fantastic. It's frankly pretty scary where the Dems are these days. They care more about illegals than they do U.S. citizens.

Illegals = votes = power

Power is all they care about. They can't get American citizens to vote for them so they have to import the votes instead.

The thing is, Van Hollen, being the low IQ moron he is, had already said he yielded back his time so Rubio used the Senate rules against him.

I love this version of Marco Rubio, and I was a big detractor given his background on the intelligence committee etc.

Vance-Rubio (or the other way around) would be a ticket I'd be ecstatic to vote for in 2028. FWIW, I've not once guessed the potus nominee correctly, let alone VP one, in a term-limited election (well, I think I might have thought Gore had it back in 2000).

i think marco rubio has many of th skills necessary to be president of the united states. i don't think anyone really questions his political talent, the question has always been at least to me where his loyalties stand. he felt a little swampy and still may be. but so far he has done a nice job for trump.
Rubio made a big mistake as a junior senator by allowing himself to be too influenced by McCain, Gang of 8, and all of that. I think over time he realized it wasn't winning him any friends in the GOP nor voters in Florida and quietly moved away from it. He's been pretty darn solid in the last number of years.

Fun fact. Marco Rubio is banned from entering China by the CCCP due his very vocal admonishment of commies. That's quite a badge of honor IMO. It's right up there with marrying a Miami Dolphins cheerleader.

His wife seems like a great women, with many similarities to my amazing bride of 33 years.

Rubio update (sorry, this isn't a Homan one, not sure what other thread applies): State Dept to charge up to $15K bond, to issue a tourist visa for countries such as Pakistan, Nigeria (I am naming just a couple) with chronic over-stay issues for tourists.

This is also upsetting all of the right types.

I voted for this.

He was right at the time in his point; the media wanted Trump to be the nominee as they figured (with Hillary) he'd be the easiest one to defeat, in 2016.

Rubio was competing, lost, reflected on it, and has since become a tremendous cabinet official under '47. Thx for the post/laugh.

Absolutely, 100 percent. GCF/MSM/Obama have gotten Trump wrong since he came down the escalator. They were giddy when he did well on Super Tuesday in '16.

One has to have amnesia, I'd think, to not recall this unless too young.

IDK. In 2015 (when Trump was America First), Trump criticized Rubio for being controlled by Adelson money. Fast forward to 2025, Trump took Adelson money and Rubio is the Sec of State. lol

That's a great idea.

And, contrary to the whiner tweet, it won't cost $15,000 to get a $15,000 bond -- you can either post cash, and get it back when you go back home, or find a bond company that thinks you are a good risk and will post that bond for a reasonable premium (maybe 15%, which would be less than the difference between flying premium economy and business class).

No he's wrong. Trump was absolutely vilified by the media in his initial run. Those were the days when Trump was using rhetoric like "fake news" and "the lying media" (which the media later co opted). The Jeb! v Hillary was the scheduled battle, but Trump thwarted it. Then we had a massive crackdown on social media. But I digress. Trump accurately stated that Rubio was controlled by Adelson in 2015. My, how far we've come

You're wrong. I clearly remember the media giving him positive coverage until it was pretty much a given he would be the nominee and then the flip switched.

The report shows that during the year 2015, major news outlets covered Donald Trump in a way that was unusual given his low initial polling numbers - a high volume of media coverage preceded Trump's rise in the polls. Trump's coverage was positive in tone - he received far more "good press" than "bad press." The volume and tone of the coverage helped propel Trump to the top of Republican polls.

100% correct. They thought he didn't have a chance, so they pushed him for the nomination.
