The thing is, Van Hollen, being the low IQ moron he is, had already said he yielded back his time so Rubio used the Senate rules against him.Trajan88 said:
It was great seeing that turd Van Hollen trying to get the last word and he got bagged.
Bravo Rubio... bravo.
Urban Ag said:Rubio made a big mistake as a junior senator by allowing himself to be too influenced by McCain, Gang of 8, and all of that. I think over time he realized it wasn't winning him any friends in the GOP nor voters in Florida and quietly moved away from it. i think marco rubio has many of th skills necessary to be president of the united states. i don't think anyone really questions his political talent, the question has always been at least to me where his loyalties stand. he felt a little swampy and still may be. but so far he has done a nice job for trump.
Fun fact. Marco Rubio is banned from entering China by the CCCP due his very vocal admonishment of commies. That's quite a badge of honor IMO. It's right up there with marrying a Miami Dolphins cheerleader.

Foreigners who work to undermine the rights of Americans should not enjoy the privilege of traveling to our country. Whether in Latin America, Europe, or elsewhere, the days of passive treatment for those who work to undermine the rights of Americans are over.

The U.S. State Department on Monday unveiled a 12-month pilot program that will require noncitizens seeking tourist or business visas from countries with high rates of visa overstays to post a bond of up to $15,000 to obtain a visa. https://t.co/ElKH8RuLzl pic.twitter.com/rK8RnRS6RG

A State Department proposal would require applicants for business and tourist visas to post a bond of up to $15,000 to enter the U.S., a move that may make the process unaffordable for many. More: https://t.co/LK9P7njMpP pic.twitter.com/m4Ighln7uO

Can @FIFAcom pull the @FIFAWorldCup from the US in retaliation for the bond requirement to obtain a tourist visa? $15,000 (plus hotel/tix/food/transit) seems awfully high just to come watch a soccer match.

He was right at the time in his point; the media wanted Trump to be the nominee as they figured (with Hillary) he'd be the easiest one to defeat, in 2016.
Rubio was competing, lost, reflected on it, and has since become a tremendous cabinet official under '47. Thx for the post/laugh.

Rubio update (sorry, this isn't a Homan one, not sure what other thread applies): State Dept to charge up to $15K bond, to issue a tourist visa for countries such as Pakistan, Nigeria (I am naming just a couple) with chronic over-stay issues for tourists.

No, he's right. Especially in the early days when they thought Jeb! Was going to battle Hillary

No he's wrong. Trump was absolutely vilified by the media in his initial run. Those were the days when Trump was using rhetoric like "fake news" and "the lying media" (which the media later co opted). The Jeb! v Hillary was the scheduled battle, but Trump thwarted it. Then we had a massive crackdown on social media. But I digress. Trump accurately stated that Rubio was controlled by Adelson in 2015. My, how far we've come
Quote:
The report shows that during the year 2015, major news outlets covered Donald Trump in a way that was unusual given his low initial polling numbers - a high volume of media coverage preceded Trump's rise in the polls. Trump's coverage was positive in tone - he received far more "good press" than "bad press." The volume and tone of the coverage helped propel Trump to the top of Republican polls.
Quote:
You're wrong. I clearly remember the media giving him positive coverage until it was pretty much a given he would be the nominee and then the flip switched.
