And as Oliver North's legal travails eventually showed, when Congress grants so-called "limited use immunity" to elicit testimony that is not allowed to be used in a subsequent criminal prosecution, is more probably to be ruled as complete immunity. North's conviction was overturned on that basis.

Immunity is equally dumb to consider though. For her crimes, she got 20 years, 5 of which have been served, and as to the point of this thread they are being served at Club Fed in various locations.

As is her right. Comey likely doesn't need a pardon because of the SOL issues. Only way around those are either treason or espionage charges.

So to confirm, he is not only an idiot but completely ignorant of the Constitution.

Why do you conclude that?

Congress cannot grant pardons. And they have no defined method to formally recommend a pardon to POTUS and he is under no obligation to even consider much less abide by the recommendation.

Ao again, why even discuss such a thing? It's as relevant as Comer saying his committee is considering whether to recommend POTUS where jeans and a polo every other Friday, and the media getting all worked up on decorum.

Sounds like she just hasn't spent enough time in prison. She's 64 and would be pushing 80 if she serves her full sentence. To each their own, but I wouldn't want to spend my last remaining years in prison and would be looking for a way out. Even if it were a sentence reduction vs a full pardon.

No indication she is not a model prisoner and would receive credits for good behavior.

Quick check shows that could mean a 2037 release.

Not sure of her overall health but even the Pan Am bomber swindled compassionate release.

So on the flip, she may just wait it out unless offered something better.

Assume she still has significant assets both known and unknown. And lots of connections.

So she's pushing 75 instead of 80. Doesn't change that much IMO, but again - to each their own.

Maybe she's afraid of the consequences from her former associates if she rolls on them? Prison might very well be her safest option without a full pardon and having the 5th to hide behind.

I would love to be a fly on the wall when Maxwell and Holmes have a conversation.
