It's hard to hear because the video clip is sped up, but Adrian Garcia rightly points out that she made a motion, to which Dora replies - no I didn't. He says yes you did, to which she replies - then I take it back, and then continues to pontificate to the room.

Proper procedure for bringing an item up for discussion is for someone to make the main motion, then a second, then discussion/debate, then a vote.

Rule number one for being a County Judge that presides over public meetings - be proficient at Robert's Rules of Order. Hidalgo treats it like her own personal kingdom where she makes up the rules of debate as she goes, or at least envisions in her feeble mind.

As the leader of the Court, she should also be able to read the room. She should have known she wouldn't be able to get a second on her motion, but she wanted her way and tried to use children to coerce her fellow commissioners to fall in line and vote her way. Terrible leadership, optics, and politics.

Thankfully, she is toast. Today she put the last nail in her political coffin.

I didn't hear until I watched the KHOU version of the video, but Garcia replies with "that's why education is important."

I don't think so. Even the Democrat commissioners are lining up against her nonsense. The Chronicle is posting negative stories - see post above. She has stepped on the wrong toes and is now embarrassing Democrats in front of their constituents.

Hidalgo read her own press clippings early on and thought she was bulletproof. She's not playing by the rules and has decided to go rogue, and the Democrat machine in Harris County isn't going to tolerate it. I think the minute Annise Parker declared she was going to file, who is also bad but she is at least competent, Hidalgo's fate was sealed.

Lina used federal covid funds to start the free pre k program. Now the money is gone. Never should have been used for that. She is mentally ill. Im not just saying libs arw mentally ill, she is actually mentally ill and being medicated. Took a 2 or 3 month sabatical with her last breakdown.

if you look at the numbers, it was not beto that won her the election. it was moron libertarians mad about the astrodome that thought the astrodome was some majorly important deal. they voted for the libertarian candidate instead of ed emmett and his margin of loss was that number that wasted their vote on libertarian.

It's their intention at every level. Keep adding on things the government should not be doing. When people challenge you, just call them "-ists" who don't care about __________. It's why we can never shrink government.

I remember when I lived in Harris County, it was conservative and tended to balance the City of Houston. Even back then, the Dems running the city were not BSC. Glad I moved away.
