The resident Israel haters framed this quote as Trump confirming their AIPAC conspiracy theories, but in reality he was talking **** about how the democrats have become antisemitic and AIPAC has no control over the narrative. Checks out.
Obsession with conspiracies about Israel and the Jews is unoriginal and pathetic. Yet some people can't help themselves.
Did you read the quote? Trump said Israel was the most powerful lobby he had ever seen and had total control of our Congress. He also mentioned a time (15-20 years ago) when you could not speak badly about Israel if you wanted to be a politician. That's a pretty cut and dry statement which I don't think is being framed into anything other than what it is.
Yes, I read the quote. He is remarking how astonishing it is that the Democrats have become so antisemitic when it was political suicide to do so a decade ago. That is objectively true, and some of the older Democrats still pretend to be pro-Israel.
He's not confirming your vast conspiracies about the meddling Jews. He's remarking how political sentiment has changed and the pro-Israel lobby is becoming less effective in their goal of promoting candidates that support a strong relationship with Israel. If you look at demographic surveys, young people are far less pro-Israel, so it makes a lot of sense and blows giant holes in your asinine belief the AIPAC is some shady puppet master.
Trump is the most pro-Israel president we've ever had. You reading your confirmation bias into his comment does change that. But I guess when you're a hammer, everything is a nail.
