The house and trump will see this through if nothing else but to make the democrats look like idiots. No way anyone in the house would be the lone holdout to have their name plastered everywhere as the person who was letting people starve and not funding the military.

Massie would gladly do it.

MTG probably would as well.
"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves." - Sir Winston Churchill

Believe they are going nice again hiding behind speech and debate clause.

And this creates a further class separation between the rulers and the ruled.

But when you corrupt and weaponized the DOJ the way the Dems have done, you suffer consequences.

Thanks libs.

That's some serious water carrying for the R's. Impressive .

We know the lefty's are anti-American and are doing their best to destroy the foundation of this country, but it's ok to also criticize the R's when they also go for anti-American policy.

How is this clean and it has a hemp ban hidden in it?

How many billions in business lost, more jobs gone. Not to mention the hemp derived compounds used by many to help relieve [whatever the **** they want].

So screw up the cost of healthcare further and attack a method of healthcare. Drive consumers back to dealers. I thought this admin was about busting up the cartels? None of this makes sense and is crazy dirty, just wow.

40 state AG's pushed this revision and had broad Democrat support. Stop trying to pretend it was some GOP exclusive deal.

House was in recess, so they are not convening until Wednesday. They'll approve (only 50% needed) and Trump will probably sign same day.

I was surprised Jon Ossoff didn't take advantage of the fact it was going to pass anyway to jump on board.

Exactly. Both sides screw us at every opportunity. What was the rush to open the government without a balanced budget anyway?

For me, military folks not missing a paycheck is where things become a problem…

Followed by air traffic safety being put at risk…

I do like the idea of them addressing those two sectors as part of the CR…

So what on earth did this hemp ban have to do with anything related to funding government functions

The Hemp ban was apparently done by McConnell as one of his last old man acts. It's an unfair law, but in the grand scheme of things it's probably 1,000 on a list of 1,100 things that are important.

I guess the CO economy is going to get f'ed by this though and I bet most Americans have no idea yet that all of their edibles just got neutered.

Justice department employees were also not getting paid. I get that, it just seems like we got little to nothing and now they're banning hemp products. It's lose-lose for the American people.

I guess I don't honestly care about hemp one way or the other…just like I don't care about things like abortion or gay marriage…just not subjects that move the needle for me one way or another…

I'm probably more anti-MJ than 95% of the board. And I think this is a stupid, stupid move.

Among other things, this is why our government is such a damned mess. You don't do something this consequential in the dead of night with a phrase crammed into an unrelated bill. You do it in a stand alone bill that is openly debated

Oh, who am I kidding. This is exactly how business is done in DC. Shouldn't be, but it is

Zero point of the hemp ban.

At every opportunity, they take away more of our freedoms and protect more of theirs.

Keep it shut down!

We weren't supposed to get anything out of this. It was meant to be a stopgap measure to continue status quo. Thus, the reason it's called a Continuing Resolution.

We did lose something from it (hemp ban), but aside from that, this is probably one of the cleanest ones ever passed, I suspect.

Yea, I am not supportive of it at all. Hence the "thanks libs" for getting us in this position.

I think the speech and debate clause is massively overused, frankly *******ized & abused. To me it should be restricted to the chambers and only when in session. You lie, libel, slander, inside trade, setup Epstein flights, or target your political opponents and / or spy on ordinary Americans and you should be held just as accountable.

So your accusation is a bit off base.

It was a clean CR with no mention of hemp, but 42 days ago the Dems thought the best way to handle was to take 15 defecations in the pool of government keeping it shutdown.

And why I think Trump DOJ should take some action against those stretching it and let SCOTUS hem it back in. Wishful thinking, I know, but Schiff Russiagate is a PRIME example of someone who repeatedly broke laws with no repercussions.

Agreed it wasn't supposed to be anything more than a stopgap with nothing added, but conservatives on the right really need to quit calling CR's clean. It's just as bad as when dear gov calls their vote bribes as "free" incentives.

There is nothing clean about a process that is only happening because Congress refuses to do it's job. CR's are dirty from the onset because a budget for countless facets of gov should never be lumped into a single vote.

Call them a status quo CR.
Or a half-ass job by Congress CR.
Or anything more accurate so the public doesn't view these as normal and efficient operating procedure because clean is far from accurate.

Great point. If not for the Dems, then we wouldn't have a hemp ban now. They created an opportunity for that to happen.

Way to go Dems! You played right into War Turtle's hands.

It's a rhetorical question but what the flip is wrong with Kentucky? One senator tucks the language in, the other senator wants to hold things up to take it out.

The "ban" though is mot immediate and would take effect 1-year out, so a kick the can to appease the hemp tea totalers and allow the industries of big liqour, big pharma, big THC, and big hemp to line the campaign coffers in 2026. Brilliant!

Well, on one hand, you have an ancient Republican Senator of the old guard establishment who has had multiple mini strokes on camera. On the other hand, you have the most libertarian Senator in the entire country.

Worlds colliding.

Here is the deal.

Life is not easy, full of sorrow even on your best days. But we are here for such a short time and it flies by.
Stay sober and alert at all times, you have no clue what danger or opportunities are coming around the corner even this day.

Be ready for whatever comes your way else you could lose it all.

Alcohol and or drugs destroy more families, marriages, wealth, careers, and friendships, walk away from it.
