The lesson for the rest of us is there is no wealth to be made in today's America by staying an employee. Either start your own business and be successful or become a successful investor. It is much easier to become a good investor.

This is certainly true if you want to be a billionaire but there are many avenues by being a good employee while investing to become a multi millionaire.

You can make a damn good living by finding a company and working hard. Sure you can get screwed and laid off etc but guess what, you can also lose everything you own by starting a business. There are pros and cons to both. I have done both successfully.

If you want to be ultra rich then yes, you can't be an employee...but that doesn't mean you can't live a really good life working for someone else.

That quote has zero basis for what I said. Learning a trade and going to work is certainly not merely existing. And risking it all only to drown is not living.

Everyone talks about how fast they are, yet I'm always stuck behind them while driving, especially on the highway.

Same. I always thought they were trying to conserve battery. You've got neck snapping speed at your fingertips but if you punch it too often, there's another half hour at the "fast" charging station in your immediate future.

He will hit 1T soon and by the time he is 60, he will hit 5T and by 70 he will be at 10T/15T.

While this is great, what stops him from misusing his wealth? He can pay off anyone and any organization. He will be the ruler of America and of the world.

This is a typical reaction from people with no or limited foresight.

Take the Brits. They thought, we have a beautiful country, what harm will a few Pakistanis do? Now the Paks have invaded the country and want to push the Brits out.

We did the same with H1Bs. We need the talent, its just a few foreign students. Now the Indian bodyshops have taken over the American tech industry and recruit only through their pipeline extending to India.

It always helps to look ahead into possibilities and prepare oneself.

Don't be like a Brit.

The VAST majority of his wealth as you certainly know is on paper only. Of course I don't pretend to know how much he's got sitting in the bank, but it's not the 100s of billions that make up his net worth. Yes, I'm sure he draws a cash salary as PART of his total compensation. I could look it up, but I'm not going to. I don't care enough.

BUT if he did any of what you're fear mongering his net worth would PLUMET. He cannot liquidate the funds in the quantities necessary to do what you say he could do. Just raising the capitol required to to buy Twitter had a significant effect on Tesla stock.

Will governments listen to him? Absolutely. But to actually generate the cash necessary to buy off and maintain the silence of "anyone or any organization" he'd need hard cash that generating/raising would tank the market values of the very companies that underpin his wealth.

BTW... He won't need all of the Tesla targets to come to fruition to become a trillionaire. He said at a Tesla event (I think) just last week that SpaceX could indeed go public as early as 2026. Right now it's limited to roughly 2500 individual private investors and he owns over 40% of the company. There have been some private moves of SpaceX shares and when those have happened it's given some glimpses of the companies value, but when it IPO's that value will likely, pardon the pun, skyrocket.

Now it makes perfect sense why he wants H1B slaves. They make him billion after billion after billion.
What is intriguing is why there are so many brainwashed lolpoors who fight for him instead of fighting for themselves. These people are mired in debt, sleeping in their cars but raise their voices for Musk's right to make money while Musk laughs while using million dollar bills to wipe his backside.

Don't know how many times I need to tell you this but Elon is not the H-1 bogeyman. He doesn't hire H-1s to save money. He hires H-1s that are brilliant. The bar to be hired by his companies is extremely high and he has extremely high expectations of his employees. He also pays extremely well. Elon would prefer visas were all merit based and to kill the lottery, he has no concern for hiring low end talent to save money. Elon also has been vocal advocating the same issues you support when it comes to the issues around young US Citizen tech workers finding employment and he is fervently anti DEI.

Elon's companies tend to have far fewer employees than most and those employees make a lot more because he is all about the best and brightest and getting the maximum productivity out of them and he pays them accordingly. His companies basically have zero fat and give employees a lot of autonomy to innovate. He also doesn't care if you have a PhD from MIT or a BS from Texas State, he cares about talent.

That is unlike most of the rest. The model for wealth for most of the uber wealthy is to cut costs and maximize profit by squeezing Operating Expenses. That's where the H-1 abuse comes from and it really isn't employed by any of the 3 guys you have in that picture. Meta and Amazon also pay top dollar to go with Google and Nvidia, it's extremely difficult to pull any employees out of those companies over comp and you can't get the best guys that way. Very common for Director level folks (sometimes Sr Manager or Principal Engineer) to make 7 figures at those companies. They DGAF about trying to save money on H-1s, they want the best talent. Of the group Amazon is probably the most cost conscious but still all of them know their value comes from having the latest and greatest tech and not from squeezing margins. If they focus on saving money instead of innovating they get left in the dust and lose those crazy multipliers for their valuations.

Oracle has a different model. They are looking to pay less and squeeze profits. Most brick and mortars also follow that as well as any company with PE involvement. Those are the folks who abuse H-1s and they often use consulting firms to do it so they don't have to actually employ the H-1s themselves. Oh, and governments (Mainly State and Local) are some of the worst as well. They hire consulting firms to do projects and then those firms have legions of H-1s doing the work.

You can't fix a problem if you don't understand it. You also can't prevent someone from being rich and powerful, though you can have some ability to choose who that person is. At least Elon is a person with good intentions and he looks at wealth as simply a tool that allows him to build really cool things. He doesn't care about his own material wealth as he finds that boring, he sold all his big mansions years ago. I also have heard from those who have met with him and work with him how much he stands out compared to anyone else. The best description of him I had was from someone that by any measure would be truly an elite person of intelligence and business success that was skeptical of him. After they met with him and saw him working with other top level folks as a part of DOGE and Trump's team it was basically like the scene in Good Will Hunting where the Professor who won a Fields Medal talked about the Matt Damon character and how he was a child compared to him in brilliance but only a handful of people could even understand the difference. Elon is just a truly unique human because he has all of the pieces from sheer intellectual brilliance to incredible business savvy. He sees all angles and the forest and the trees. Fortunately he also cares about humanity and not personal gain unlike a guy like Soros or Gates or Rockefeller who care about power and control.

What are you talking about?

Democrats attempted to force feed EV's to the country, and failed. Auto companies virtue signaled and went hard on EVs and are backing off.

Entire country? Please.

Tesla is one part of his overall portfolio and I still don't think most people understand what Tesla really is.

This is true. These estimates are masturbatory calculations by Forbes and not liquid wealth.

Gates is really the marvel. If he had held onto his entire Microsoft stake and not donated most of it to charity, he would be worth a legit $1.5 Trillion right now in much more liquid MSFT shares.

A lot of Elon's theoretical wealth is counting private round SpaceX type stuff that may or not pay off at the current valuations.

Still, he has managed to create so much potential future wealth across so many level. The guy is remarkable.

The amazing thing about Elon's wealth is that he has significant ownership in various multi billion (and trillion) dollar companies. Its not just Tesla or Space X. Its simply awesome how he can lead so many large companies at the same time.

Tesla market cap: $1.6 trillion
Space X valuation: $800 billion
xAI: $230 billion
X valuation: $44 billion
Neuralink valuation: $9 billion
The Boring Company valuation: $7 billion

Affixing fancy but childish names doesn't change things.

Elon is in it just for himself. He thought he could gain power by aligning with Trump so he could keep his H1B slave pipeline going. Trump had a different view so they split up.

Elon doesn't love you. We Ags love you more than Elon does.

In the past 15 year environment, probably makes more sense to track in either gold or bitcoin than USD.
