Tucker Carlson - US could be on verge of civil war

I watched this last night. It is a bit long, but he makes numerous good points, particularly on how diversity is NOT our strength, but is rather one of the largest contributors to our division. Points out that the divides between the states are growing very quickly as people move..... essentially voting with their feet.

Points out that everyone on the left screaming about the illegitimate use of military to enforce federal law ignores when Eisenhower (Little Rock) and Kennedy (Old Miss) used troops to enforce federal law before. Kennedy used 31,000 troops to protect and enforce the rights of 1 civilian!

Has Nick Sortor on who goes through everything that has happened to him over the last week or so as well.

This is worth your time:

Tucker has some good moments but stuff like this is just sensationalism meant to drive clicks.

If I had a dollar for every single time someone has claimed that CW2 was imminent, I could have retired years ago.

And people who actually want a civil war have no clue what they're wishing for.

It will not be one army vs. another.

It would be a widespread guerrilla war with citizen against citizen that would make The Troubles look like a backyard brawl.
"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves." - Sir Winston Churchill

Kind of like all the proclamations of imminent economic recession or depression?

We are definitely self segregating into progressive/dependent and conservative communities over time. The politicsl Balkanization is causing us to become more polarized and less empathetic to others as we personally interact less. My observation is the effect on the progressive left is more extreme as they are more insular and less tolerant of ideological differences.

There won't be a war for at least 20-30 years, if ever (over these sets of issues). What we will see instead is a continuing balkanization of the states and fringe violence.

Maybe something will happen to reverse the trend - but I doubt it.

It COULD get worse - but that will require some trigger event - generally something economic in nature that just makes everyone much more miserable than they already are. Nothing like a crap economy to get people in the mood to kill.

This.

I think we have far more in common with people that vote differently, and even share different values than us, than we do with politicians or political influencers/pundits.

The guy down the street with the Bernie bumper sticker, and the guy up the street wearing a MAGA hat both want a roof that doesn't leak, food in the fridge, safety/security for their family & themselves etc.

The last thing on the planet I want to do is go to war, and put my beliefs to the side, to murder other human beings...but I would if I had no other choice.

Nobody should ever want that. Things are not anywhere near that bad.

Things are much better in the USA now than they have been for most of our history.

from 1860-1880 the entire country was devastated by a vicious war which killed up to 20% of the Southern men in certain jurisdictions.

it took an entire generation to rebuild burnt cities, farms, plantations as well as the economic dislocation from freedom of the slaves.

now Trump will likely be at 53% approval after the Middle East Peace Deal!

We have a lot of talking, bargaining, negotiation, etc. to do before anyone resorts to widespread violence as the only resolution. There is far too much for everyone to lose. Our more immediate problem is neither side seems to understand the implications of the exponential function in regards to debt and government policy and how economically painful a currency revaluation collapse and reset would be.

For over four centuries our people have assimilated from diverse racial, ethnic, and religious traditions to create a nation full of prosperity and opportunity. Tucker is pimping replacement theory nonsense. Gotta keep that geriatric gold-hoarding demographic on their toes.

What do you do when that 'nice' Bernie guy down the street wants to have your kids kidnapped by the state for not affirming LGBTQ ideology OR he wants them taken from you because you wont give them a COVID clot shot ?

The Bernie guy down the street, tbh, is NOT nice. He's a friggin communist who would have you shot to advance the collective. Or worse yet - make your kids pull the trigger.

I think it is more likely that we break off into separate countries before we have a civil war.

I wouldn't be surprised, either, if rural Californians go guerilla on the big cities and take them over.

while i do not believe a civil war in the historical context is plausible i would not be so dismissive as some of you are stating. if you know your history you know that the civil war was cold for approximately 3 decades before it actually started. it was brewing/ simmering. the point is just because people have spoken abkut it for a few years and it hasn't happened yet doesn't mean it can't or won't. it means these things don't happen over night they build to a crescendo.

Balkanizing? I mean, we have one precedent so far here in the US. Which led directly to the ACW.

I don't think it's truly feasible as we sit now. We are farrrr to intermixed to have any sort of true divide on state lines. As mentioned above, if anything were to happen it would be true block by block division and fighting IMO. Which is about as worst case as I can think of.

Considering Tucker's father was involved with the CIA, and he admits that finally...I would assume he also is an intelligence agent at this point.

So that makes me wonder the reasoning behind putting this "civil war is imminent" message out there.

I don't know man...listening to Nick Fuentes on Dave Smith podcast yesterday, they both made some really good points as to why they think some type of true political unrest is more likely than us all coming together and just agreeing to disagree...or agreeing on any type of comon goal or vision.

And it is largely demographic, and the demographic changes were FORCED ONTO US. INTENTIONALLY.

Essentially, "you are going to have an unrecognizable America, and your children will inherit a completely unrecognizable America from the one you were so fortunate to enjoy". It is going to be a brown one, with everyone putting their own competing self interests above all others....and it is going to be A-OK to hate whites, especially white males. Gen Z ain't havin it though....and it could very well lead to chaos.

I don't have a racist bone in my body, but I look around at what Houston has become on an almost daily basis, and it is sad. The place was awesome in the 80's and 90's. Now it's like little Mogadishu.

If you went to Italy or Korea and told them, over the next 10-15 years, we are going to ABSOLUTELY FLOOD your country with third world migrants/french people/Muslims/whatever....NO ONE IN THEIR RIGHT MINDS WOULD VOTE FOR THAT. And that doesn't make them "racist" or "bigoted". It makes them just normal, smart humans.

On the left?

We have hard polling data showing that almost all democrats wanted me and my wife to be fired and for us and our child to suffer greatly for not getting an experimental cold "vaccine" that we did not need. 60% wanted me forced by the government into lockdown. 40% wanted me fined or imprisoned for "spreading misinformation" or "questioning the efficacy" of the "vaccine". And THIRTY MF PERCENT wanted my infant daughter taken away from me until I complied.

JImmy Kimmel joyfully fantasized about hospitals denying any and all medical services to the unvaccinated, and leaving them to die horrific deaths...and this was met with laughter and thunderous applause on his show (you can look it up).

You know all this...why do you always goaltend for these freaks? It's the party of hatred, envy, intolerance, violence and destruction. Yet you always goaltend for them and attack the right.

We hate each other more, and are mor divided ideologically than north and south soldiers were in the 1860's...but you are right, our lives are too comfortable.

It would take another great depression 2.0 for there to ever be any type of unrest or violence from the right. The left is constaqntly committing violence though, obviously. I guess they mistake our inaction for "weakness". No, we just have much more to lose.

The irony is there's a much simpler solution that would make both sides happy: return a lot of the powers that the federal government has usurped back to the states. That way, people can just move where they want, vote in whatever policies they think are best, and we can stop this "the sky is falling if the other side wins" nonsense that takes over our country every 4 years. Let the best ideas win...almost as if some old dudes thought about this 240-something years ago....
