Oh I trust and respect many black people, don't be silly. Thomas Sowell (agrees with me btw), is one of the greatest Americans of all time. It's largely socioeconomic...but it has snowballed out of control over the decades as there is a vastly disproportionate amount of young black men that are more violent/dangerous statistically. This is a FACT. Do you debate this? Even Jesse Jackson was saying this back in the 80's/90's.

Stats do not lie. If you want to talk about reasons why young black males commit so many violent crimes, and why Asian males commit so little, that could potentially be a solid discussion, on another thread.

Haven't read the entire thread yet, but I guess I'm going to be one of those "dozens" claiming to be an AP teacher who'll defend the curriculum.

I teach AP US Government and Macroeconomics, as well as regular level gov/econ.

I teach about communism, and how Hitler couldn't hold a candle to Stalin or Mao for sheer number dead, or even Pol Pot when it comes to total percentage of the population murdered.

I also teach in Florida, where we are required to spend one day a year in all social studies classes teaching the evils of communism.

The fact that one young idiot in the OP didn't know about communism doesn't mean it's not taught. It means that guy is an idiot.

OP, to return to simply your question, here is something to realize and consider.

Its been revealed and become clear in the last decade that basically, in a real way many don't allow for, school and also `news' itself is now Left. Education is Left. It is not going to be likely source for learning anything much accurate about communism or Marxist theory and thought. The individual exception teachers will just prove the rule. In a similar way it will over-emphasize Nazism, and not other forms of response to Marxist take-over. So its creating the peculiar push-back among some you see about Hitler (that other crazy thread) without realizing opposing Marxism doesn't require that. But school is not going to teach that, or legacy media cover it.
