Anecdotal so isn't worth much, but I honestly feel like I have seen far more "wtf?" moments with truckers over the past 1-2 years than I can ever remember. I spend a fair amount of time on 45 and 35 and historically my main complaint was largely limited to the trucker doing 60 passing the trucker doing 59.5 in a 70mph zone. But otherwise steady, predictable driving. But I've seen all sorts of wtf these past few years.

The issue is that these arent legal American drivers.

The demand for truck drivers is high, the pay is good and you have states allowing illegals to live there. Add in that they are facilitating illegals getting documents that they aren't legally allowed to have because of state governments. It is then ripe for abuse, misuse and degradation of the systems built to prevent such accidents

Therefore the problem. These Californian illegals are driving cross country with their Californian papers.

Wouldn't surprise me in the least to see federal checkpoints popping up all over on interstates to remove illegal drivers

It truly is baffling to see the utter lack of concern or effort spent on the most basic aspects of cleanliness. And I post this as a northwest Plano resident, so I see it all the time from hygiene issues to complete idiocy on the road in all forms of motorized transportation.

I will say that the weigh stations on 80, which I drive alot, are open all the time now. They used to be open every once in a while.

They paid for their wars with your tax dollars and also with your untaxed dollars. Inflation is theft.

The demand is not just high. It's damn near critical in many areas and industries. And it's been that way for years now and only gotten worse. Clean record and a pulse was pretty much the only requirement even a decade ago. Now???

The only shocking aspect of all this to me is how many people are apparently just now noticing how many accidents/near accidents are caused by truckers. This has been a problem for as long as I've been driving and I assume much longer. There may be an immigrant problem now, but if so then they're just replacing the 75 IQ Americans who were killing people before them.

At least once a year I nearly get run off the road by drifting semi. I've lost count how many times I've seen one clip a guardrail or take a turn too wide and get themselves stuck, or damage another car/property. They drive in clearly marked areas where they are not supposed to regularly. They're incredibly dangerous.

100% agree but it's at an epidemic level right now. I am typically insulated from it because of my business/lifestyle but in the last few months I have had to drive down to Houston and SA several times and it is just god awful dangerous.

It's funny/ironic how the two parties/ideologies shift. I am now in the camp of supporting the ambulance chasers to "make them pay". Sue the F out of them Thomas.

Anecdotal but I have plenty of drivers show up in last 2 years that speak poor English and they can't back in to dock worth a crap. I have a sped up video that I overlayed with Benny Hill theme where a guy fought for 34 mins to back into the dock and finally a white driver told him to get out and he backed it in first stab.

There it is, and didn't take long to come out. Americans would have killed those people anyway so all of these illegals make no difference.

Other side of that coin is how f'ing stupid people are driving around truckers as well. I swear it's getting worse. I've seen more people just whipping around them beyond carelessly, causing all sorts of sudden brake checks and mad swervings than the other way round.
