One of my insane liberal cousins left for France this summer. Took a year or more of planning and paper work for her to be admitted for residency despite being married to a Frenchie (he is definitely a pathetic simp).

We will see if she actually stays or for how long. I suspect that living there will not be as much fun as all her visits have been.

I am glad that she has gone and hope she is happy. But, sadly I am going to assume that she plans to continue to vote in our elections. In order to protect democracy of course.

I really wish we could airlift these delusional freaks to Iran or Pakistan where they would be forced to live out the remainder of their lives completely covered from head to toe, and completely controlled by men.

I would donate to a cause like that.

After having successfully completed this process, living in Europe for a year, and just receiving notice that my visa has been extended for two more years, I can vouch for this. There is no way 99% of these crybabies would meet the criteria for moving permanently to another country.

Truth to the nth degree. For me, retiring to Europe, has been a more than beneficial experience. But with the good comes the not so good, and one certainly needs to balance the tube before making the decision to move or to stay here.

I know a lot of people through work who have moved overseas in the past 25 years. They all work for large consulting firms, large accounting firms, and banks. Because they did transfers from their Dallas or Houston office to an overseas office of the same company, moving overseas was much easier for them. None or them have ever come back. Once they started having kids, the maternity and paternity leave was much better in the European offices of their companies compared to the Houston and Dallas offices. Same with vacation time and sick days. France, Denmark, Switzerland, Portugal, Italy, Spain, and Portugal seem to be where everyone has been the happiest. Oh, and also Australia. None of them enjoyed England. Hated the weather and all thought it was very expensive. I do know one guy in his 50's who now lives 6 months in France and then 6 months in NYC. He works for a Swiss bank. I wouldn't mind doing something like that. Spend half the year in France and then the other half somewhere in the states.

By all means let's keep those. If you are one of the olds, pedicures are a godsend. I've had two in the last 5 months and my feet never felt better. Circulation has improved, I haven't snagged a sock (regular or support) nor even a pair of underwear since. My feet don't look like something out of a horror movie and the grandkids aren't grossed out when I go barefoot or go swimming. Plus I'm not embarrassed when I go to the dermatologist for my biannual skin cancer prevention appointment. It pays for itself. Life is good.
