The Commission proposes to set up a new monitoring centre, the European Centre for Democratic Resilience a continent-wide censorship and propaganda machine of EU funded "fact checkers" who will decide what information is "safe" for European eyes.

The way the EU operates is similar to the US did under the Articles of Confederation. Sovereign member states subject to a weak central government with a unified currency. Lots of competing agendas and "Me first" domestic policies on member states that with against the greater good (like dependence on Russian O&G, insistence on intake of "asylum seekers", etc).

The EU is a very strong regulatory body, which through commerce has manged to go far beyond trade

The problem they have now, the individual nation states voices have been so dilluted that any dissent is just washed out. They've sold thier sovereignty. There are no cross country parties or voting blocks to reign in the left. There is no real unity

This is why I would have been in favor of Brexit, dilution of sovereignty to foreign control. No thanks
