Maybe you can elaborate as to what you are talking about, as most of us are at work and not watching any press conferences

Trump Accounts are new investment accounts for children under 18. Families can open accounts in early 2026 and contribute starting July 4, 2026. looks like $1,000 account for newborns.

Without any details, I tend to be okay with it. We need to increase our birth rate here in the US

But she got more gold than Scrooge McDuck.

The accounts have been long known about and though Trump gimmicky they are still a good thing.

The fact the Dell's are offsetting the costs to an extent is even better.

I don't recall Soros offering to cover the first $6.25 billion of student loan forgiveness.

I was going to post about these. It's a hybrid 401(k) / 529 account that belongs to a child which parents can put post-tax $ into up to $5k per year. Children born from 1/1/2025 to 12/31/2028 get $1k from the US Treasury.

Look for these accounts to be sold for pennies on the $ to parents who want $100 right now.

I do hope they legislated against them being used as collateral by the parents.

lots of questions. wondering what type of protections are on these accounts so they are not drained by parents or crooks

I can't remember what year it was (and frankly I don't care to look it up), but I clearly remember Obama saying he was going to do the same thing (or at least very similar) in one of his SOTU speeches. Obviously, he never followed through with it. But, that won't stop the liberal hive mind from whining and moaning about what a horrible idea it is.
As long as it's being partially funded by wealthy philanthropists and has strict guidelines on when the money can be accessed, who cares?

Neo-Nazis: "but Epstein!!"

NEW YORK (AP) Jewish Billionaires Michael and Susan Dell pledged $6.25 billion Tuesday to provide 25 million American children under 10 an incentive to claim the new investment accounts for children created as part of President Donald Trump's tax and spending legislation.

The historic gift has little precedent, with few single charitable commitments in the past 25 years exceeding $1 billion. Announced on GivingTuesday, the Dells believe it's the largest single private commitment made to U.S. children.

Its structure is also unusual. Essentially, it builds on the " Trump Accounts " program, where the U.S. Department of the Treasury will deposit $1,000 into investment accounts it sets up for American children born between Jan. 1, 2025 and Dec. 31, 2028. The Dells' gift will use the "Trump Accounts" infrastructure to give $250 to each qualified child under 11.

I will commend Michael Dell in that he's stayed with the original wife he married back in the day instead of upgrading to some plastic woman like so many other rich dudes do.

Just tried my new tinfoil hat back on.

But there may be more to this than Trump make it rain for babies.

To receive money, you are going to have to provide a valid SSN. Likely for not just the child but for the custodian.

Some may even admit to it here, but there are still TONS of parents who do not register for a SSN for their new baby.

Then you get into all the illegals.

And finally, this sets up a nice fight for birthright citizenship. Can Trump slide in a requirement that it only goes to children where at least one parent is a US citizen? That will pickle the Dems up nicely and have them demanding $1,000 for children of illegals.

just my tinfoil musings. Carry-on.

BTW - TexAgs need a tinfoil hat emoji.

Why isn't this being made permanent? Or is this an EO type of thing that would need congress to make it permanent?

Yet she was actually really pretty back before she started chasing the plastic surgery fountain of youth.

I find a natural older woman that takes care of herself so much hotter than an older plastic lizard person.

This sounds kinda inflationary to me. But that won't have that effect until after we are gone. That could help with our national debt issue?

Part of the One Big Beautiful Bill...think a $1000 jump starter 401k for kids to be used for education or to start a business at age 18+.

As for the Susan Dell comments...some of you guys need Jesus bad. Family gives $6.25B to Americans and the best you've got is a snide remark about her looks.

If that $1,000 is not touched until retirement age... that would be about $45,000 in today's dollars (w/ a 6% return)?

Time value of money is powerful... too bad inflation is ever present.

Why do billionaires always end up with the ugliest women??

Someone please tell me there is one billionaire married to a pretty woman and Rule No 1. By pretty I also mean nothing ruined by surgeries or botox.
