That's the current low projection.

Valero said FU to Newsom (they rejected the offer of 100s of millions to help pay operating costs). 17% reduction in state supplied gas supply in the next few months, Philips first then Valero.

The port can't handle the needed imports to make up the shortfall.

Get your popcorn ready because this is gonna be better than any movie you've seen in a while.

Here is a good vid:

And in the end Newsom won't get blamed for it, but Trump and the Republicans will because that is what the media, and the army of influencers & bots will tell the sheeple.

They really want to push everyone to EV but can't do it because they don't have the grid. They don't have the grid because the same people mismanaging everything else are trying to regulate the grid.

I can't believe Trump killed the O&G industry in California starting back in W's term that led to this.

His 4D chess is unparalleled.

I agree. The "average" price of gasoline across the United States will go up largely because of California. That top line number is all the media headlines will report.

Just like when they passed that ridiculous legislation regulating the chicken and pork industry.

It will not impact national gas. Cali uses a special blend of gas only made in Cali and some overseas locations. The rest of the country is isolated from their nonsense.

It won't affect the actual gasoline supply in the rest of United States at all. I get that. What it will do is factor into the national average price of gasoline. Just like when California passed their stupid free-range chicken egg law and a dozen eggs spiked to $10 there. Factor it into the national average and the national average goes up. Media reports it, Trump is blamed.

California is poised to fully approve E15 in an effort to lower prices. Yes, I know the argument that it lowers fuel economy, but people rarely care about that.

The bigger issue with northern California is that the infrastructure isn't there to support a lot more imported gasoline. Until someone pony's up the money to connect the ports to the pipelines, this just becomes a reduction in supply without a clear viable way to replace it.

I hope that the price of Cali Gas goes to $20/gal and that suppliers stop delivering food to the city grocery stores.
Let the food riots begin.

They can then look and see that those of us in Texas are paying $2/gal. Maybe then they will start voting better.

Our gasoline in Phoenix comes from California so this is a problem for me at least.

You have to think of California as two distinct supply chains.

Northern California and Southern California.

Southern California does have a better port system that ties to the pipelines so places like Phoenix are easier to get product to.

Phoenix also gets quite a bit of gasoline from the east which helps as well.

lol. What idiocy.

Meanwhile, our newest gas station offers E0, so they get my business now.

Optimistic framing: This will encourage Californians to get more exercise.

You know, what with having to walk long distances due to not having enough money for gasoline.

Dont forget one of their remaining refineries blew up earlier this year. Theyll be down 20-25% former production rates and 17% of that is never coming back.

Cali gas is already about $2 higher than TX gas.

It is heart-warming when liberals have to own the consequences of their votes.

I feel bad for the conservatives out there who do everything they can at the ballot box but still end up with commie policies. I guess you just have to pick up and move to friendly territory.

I troll my Cali friends by sending them snapshots while I'm filling up. A few regurgitate the "O&G companies gouge CA customers" BS line. Others understand.

That was a very good video, but they also missed one major rammification: as cost of business skyrockets companies are going to exit the west coast to protect their bottom line. As companies flee at an accelerated pace their tax base is going to get gutted. This is particularly a major issue as Prop 13 in the 70's ruined their property rax system and has pushed the majority of taxes onto personal income and corporate taxes. When people flee its going to have a. Outsized impact on the state's revenue.

I might be wrong but I think gasoline from Texas just goes to Tucson. I was that way in Tuesday and gasoline is significantly lower there than Phoenix.

What's ethanol have to do with anything?

That moves via rail or barge and is an entirely different supply chain .

No.

PHX requires AZRBOB, which is really just reformulated gasoline. Tucson doesn't and takes the "conventional CBOB so it's going to be cheaper.

It's been a minute since I looked, but it is very possible that Tucson only gets gas from the east.

PHX absolutely gets gas from the east, but certainly gets a fair share from the west.
