We learned nothing from Solyndra.

Disagree.

The Dems learned quite well that they could slush fund money straight to their friends and family through enormous bills and pay zero penalty for it.

True dat.

In fact, unfortunately not just Dems. I know of one small company, run by generally conservative people, that went chasing after CHIPS dollars and got them. And still went bankrupt. Government cheddar is just too tempting for most people.

The evening news showed Abbott taking credit for the new plant being built. It would not have even started if not for funding from the Biden Administration under the CHIPS and Science Act. Once finished 2,000 tech jobs will be employed with thousands more to come in the next two additions.
I thought the set asides and DEI requirements included in the CHIPS Act resulted in the announced plants either not being built or them eventually being funded by other means.
