Well, they did say there would be "national security" redactions, and that is highly likely to be the CIA bureaucracy attempting to c cover its involvement in exploiting, if not being more directly involved in Epstein's financial schemes or influence seeking activities. They, or any other intelligence service didn't necessarily run him, but they sure would have looked at him as an opportunity to gather information or manipulate others through his activities.

Given that the number of people who have seen and worked on the raw Epstein files (reviewing them for redactions, legal work, congressional, etc.) over the years is now in the thousands by now….the odds of anything 'secret' coming to light that would actually result in criminal charges for anyone is near zero.

So at this point…if this entire saga is meaningless with regards to any new criminal charges, if it is just about politics…then what is the point of all this? Why is it such a critical topic for the average American and require such continued expenditure of government focus and cost….other than the topic's conspiracy theory entertainment value?

It's interesting people point to the redaction process and not the subject of these faulty redactions when bemoaning about the DOJ here.

I am not sure if the redaction faction is 4d chess, incompetence or some combination thereof, but if that is the current rumbling regarding the files then it points to the utter lack of content in the files.

Did someone forget to print to image or flatten the .pdfs? Did they load a draft that had not been reviewed for final publication? Easily could have happened.

People are really really stretching when they nitpick on things like this.

Don't rule out incompetence. Not where computer illiteracy by Federals is concerned. Remember what Musk's DOGE revealed about Social Security's record keeping processes.

I am perfectly fine with all redactions coming off. That seems the most probable explanation. Something that's never been clear is how much the victims involved were there because of initial involvement -- that is, hanging around the rich and powerful in an `orbiting' manner, or whether any of these were outright abductions. In any case, for such, they really can't expect a system like this to ever fix itself.

One would think that attorneys would need easy to use tools to redact and sanitize documents. Maybe there's software out there that is cheaper than Adobe Acrobat DC. It's what I have, and while expensive, it does everything I want it to do quickly and efficiently for when I have to prepare my files to send to my attorney clients.

It may be intentional. The vast majority of people who work for the Federal government are radical lefties. Undermining Trump is priority 1.

I can't speak for everyone else, but I personally only believe names of VICTIMS should be redacted. Everything else should be open to see. I think the point here is just how comically incompetent our government is at every single thing it does.

If the redactions include CIA involvement, there is a non-zero chance the disclosure was intentional.

The excuse of "national security" really means "cover someone's ass security." It isn't as if within the documents there is a list of names of American spies, or the time and place of our planned invasion of Russian. When they claim transparency, that means as transparent as they choose to be.

In all fairness, most software licenses are severely overpriced.

Exactly. National security means "maintaining the security, safety, and finances" of the deep state who really run the Country. They don't want the peasants to find out how much better off we would be without every single one of them. Every politician and party included.
