It would appear cuba might be the next target. It would appear we have decided to remove the commie narco elements from our hemisphere.

Someone please tell me there's oil to be gotten in Cuba so we can drive gas prices even lower.

The 'this is all about the oil' narrative I don't know anyone serious actually believes. But, Cuba has a zero percent chance of remaining under the current governance without Venezuelan oil shipments.

"One of the biggest problems Venezuelans had is they have to declare independence from Cuba!"-Rubio

Thru much of 2025 until December VZ exports of crude to Cuba had actually recovered a bit in the 2nd half. That's over.

Biden was allowing China and Russia to gain more footholds on the continent.

Trump said "Don-roe Doctrine is still in effect and Fortress North America is back!"

Next up, using that new oil money to finance a couple little sprucing up projects like:

-The fall of Cuba
-Western Canada to the US
-Brazil out of BRICS
-Greenland becomes Freedom Island
-Retaking the Canal Zone.

Not unless Russia and China help them, in my view.

Not unless both Russia and China tell them they are on their own and no oil nor other assistance will be given.

We had a neighbor back in the late 70s who was in the National Guard. His unit was specifically tasked with setting up a functioning city government (under military control) in a short time. I assumed that was for after a natural disaster within the US but Cuba presents an interesting scenario with Gitmo already there. Cuba is so close to the US supply chains are not a major issue. Get the lights on and water running and bring in a crap ton of food, like a mini Berlin Airlift and the Cuban people will be thrilled.

You could easily be a sub under one of the "Big Guys" of KBR or Fluor etc....they have to be licking their chops at stuff like this as their revenue must be WAY down than the height of Afghanistan and Iraq going on and all....

Just blockade and restrict Cuban airspace for a couple months. They're on the brink of collapse anyways so you would think that would be the knockout blow and then help install a new government.

I wonder if the chicoms or ruskies will step in to save their commie brethren and poke the U.S. in the eye, or if they don't want to be on the losing end of yet another U.S./Trump operation?

If the stories about both China and Russian deploying their most advanced aircraft defense systems to VZ which we easily took down in a cyber attack, I don't think either Putin or Xi want to risk further humiliation.

Agreed. If Russia had any ass left, it would have to go to Iran. The possibility of a western democracy on oils fields only buffered by three former SSRs is a threat. Russia got got.
As for China, i think they are maintaining discipline on their first island chain goals. They would be wise not to chase rabbits thousands of miles away. Ors worse they do and they have to bail.

Also agree. In particular with China, they will definitely keep to their sphere of influence in the Indo Pacific. I think the wild card for them in our hemisphere is Brazil who for some reason is attached to the hip of China. The chicoms will keep a few irons burning in South America, but this move on Venezuela was a big signal that if you're "allied" with China, they won't help you unless it is 100% in their interest

Peru as well. They're massively invested in Puerto Chancay. Long term, we need to have a plan for forcing their divestiture both from Brazil and Peru.

These areas may ultimately be our greatest threat to China. We will take the canal back by force, destroy investment in the western hemisphere and end their relationship with Brazil…. If we can't stop them taking an island, they don't have a chance crossing the pacific.

We need to keep China out of our hemisphere at all costs, for many reasons. Elimination of Chinese authoritarian partner governments elsewhere in the world when the opportunity arises wouldn't hurt my feelings either.

Chinese troll ships are conducting pulse fishing (electric shock fishing) in the Persian Gulf and near Iranian waters, killing fish, juvenile fish, and coral, turning the sea into a "dead sea."

Local Iranian reports have covered mass fish deaths and unemployment among local fishermen, with confirmed devastation of juvenile fish and coral, as well as collateral damage to dolphins, sea turtles, and others.

Fishing using electric shocks has problems such as ecosystem destruction and is prohibited in many countries.

However, the UN and Greenpeace are, for some reason, staying silent about this kind of ecosystem destruction by China.
