It really is a reflection of culture and values in deep blue urban areas, whether it's NYC, Houston, Memphis, Atlanta, Dallas, Chicago, Detroit, St. Louis, Baltimore, Oakland, Los Angeles, Portland, or others.

This is the answer. Back in SF they used business owners and property owners to rile up the voters to support all stupid backwards causes. Since they assured everyone that they wouldn't be paying for it, and was only funded by the evil rich business and property owners everything always got voted in. The most "educated" people in the world fell for it every time. It's hard to defeat a measure with a foundation of victimhood and blame.

As a business owner with two properties in the city, I always loved voting season to see how much more id be paying the following years to help the homeless and support low income housing.

Apartment buildings and such are "individual goods," yes? I wonder how long until the city tries to take ownership of someone's home/appartment/restaurant, and this goes into the courts. Probably it's all a bunch of bluster that will go nowhere. There was some dumb woman in Colorado that spouted off similar nonsense a few years ago.

The people get the government they deserve. Bold was my own, I still think it's hilarious gay voters went for the guy who is an Islamist and has palled around with people who would absolutely have them stoned/killed.
