Carter and Biden were both presidents under planned massive inflation, both had tons of problems and both were not good for the US in terms of their citizens. there are too many items to list for either of them. Obama may be the worst of all because of his continued manipulation once out of office, the swamp wasnt created over night.

Carter's impact on the world was far worse than Biden, from Iran/Middle East, to Rwanda, to his later embrace of brutal dictators the world over. His race communism was deliberate, just masked by 'nice guy who taught sunday school' image. His domestic policies weren't any better of course. An evil, vile man until the end.

Obama is still trying but he is too stupid to pull it off now, in terms of competing imho.

Add in there LBJ. An atrocious president who's long term damage is still being felt.

Absolutely right. Johnson was the worst in history. His actions, inaction, corruption, all combined with malevolent political maneuvering led the US to be in a really dark place for a long time.

It is doubtful that the most common president's listed on this thread ever even sniff the presidency without the dysfunction that Johnson's administration sowed.

Yep. Carter was a bad President but a man of character. Obama and Biden are horrible humans.

I honestly don't see how we can ever fix the destruction that Obama and Biden's open borders policies created. Inflation, housing, jobs, etc., etc. It's overwhelming.

Especially when you combine it with the massive immigrant fraud that is still flourishing.

Carter was terrible. He was ineffectual and dull. He was not a good man. He is likely the reason that I never wanted to be a Democrat from a fairly early age.

But I have to believe that Carter took a look at Obama's record and thanked him for knocking him out of the top spot of worst presidents.

Obama is a POS. He is a commie racist who told America exactly what he wanted to do - and yet a bunch of dumbass Americans, including some in my family, voted for this sack of dog crap anyway. I wonder if America will ever fully overcome all of this rat's fundamental transformation efforts.

Biden is a drooling, senile POS who likes to sniff girls' hair and shower with his own daughter. He was never really there - it was Obama as the Manchurian president (as opposed to candidate) making decisions in the shadows during those 4 God-awful years.

Obama is #1 by a long mile on this list. I'll go with Biden second only because he was secretly Obama. Then Carter.

10,000,000 illegal immigrants may well trump the worst thing that any of them did.

Up until Carter, once out of office a POTUS consider himself part of an exclusive club and his primary loyalty was to that club rather than his Party. Carter changed that.

False. Operation warp speed was unprecedented and deserves recognition.

I would not put Operation Clot Shots high on his list of accomplishments

Biden's border policies caused the collapse of the United States.

Worst of all time.

Also: probably didn't know he was President.

We almost lost South Korea because of Carter. The whole Iran stuff is because of Carter.

To say nothing of Rhodesia/Rwanda, and in fact all of southern Africa winding up in the hands of the race communists thanks to Carter and his pal, and Carters desire/need to cover up his earlier racism history in Georgia. Let the dark continent pay the price. He never even later in his 'good post-presidency' took issue with Mugabe or any of the other ANC types.

I'm convinced that otherwise intelligent people who persist in calling him a 'good person' in any way have just never taken the time to study alternative views of his (deliberate) impact on the world. He wasn't dumb. He started out on nuclear subs for goodness sakes.

Particularly today, remember he claimed to believe the Ayatollah would be a 'ghandi-like reformer' in Iran. Let that sink in.

Barack Obama, Joe Biden, and then Jimmy Carter. The Biden administration was essentially the 3rd term of the Obama administration but even further left.

I remember well in early elementary school, sung to the Oscar Mayer Weiner song...
" Jimmy Carter has a way of screwing up the USA"
Seriously look up the department of energy's recommendations during Carter's presidency. Wear a sweater, have elevator. Stop at every other floor, sitting in classrooms without the lights on, etc. I do think Carter was a decent man just with very fundamentally wrong beliefs, but I do think he cared deeply about the USA.

We shouldn't even be referring to it as Biden and instead refer to it as the presidency during Biden. Who the hell was really in charge?

Of all of them, the most damage seems to be from Obama. What a legacy he has left for this country, especially when compared to the late '80s and '90s.

I do concur that LBJ was terrible and did terrible damage mostly covered by the new mainstream media. He was personally very corrupt but I do not think his intention was to fundamentally reshape America as was Obama's stated purpose.

Carter.......

By miles because of political failure in the middle east (IRAN) and economic collapse, interest rates and inflation!

Lived it, not fun times!

Even if someone did try to create a probably still overly progressive, but moderately fair model for ranking presidents Donald Trump is so outside conventional norms he would rate poorly regardless.

That's a good thing.

I forgot that Carter did this too:

President Carter withdrew from the Mutual Defense Treaty with Taiwan.

I hope my comment is not flagged for derailing, but I have been reading The Anxious Generation and I think that Recess time, and it's reduction for the current cohort, was extremely undervalued from a human/little human perspective.

Children at recess tend to settle disputes, accept risky (within reason) behavior, and escalation better in the human world which is something that the Virtual World will never provide.

If we "helicopter" these children to keep them safe, we are short-circuiting basic human experiences that span hundreds of thousands of years of development that taught children how to assess risk, assume reasonable risks, and take chances.

The net effect is that the current generation becomes overwhelmed with anxiety. Anxiety is nervousness about future events. A large percentage of young people do not know how to quantify or even assess reasonable risk...

Which is why they are so anxious. They have no idea what to do.

OK. Im flagging myself for derailing now.

Jimmy Carter also signed into law the Community Reinvestment Act, which would metastasize into a causative role of the housing crisis in the mid-2000's.

But among the communists/dictators he embraced warmly over the course of his lifetime, today especially we should remember the great love he had for the CCP, normalizing relations with them (betraying Taiwan of course, happily, as he did with any number of democratic governments/allies) and 'unlocking' trade leading to the wealth and power they have in the world today. It is difficult to tell if he loved Deng Xiaoping, Robert Mugabe, Hugo Chavez, or Khomenei ('a Ghandi like reformer) more, but he clearly adored each and every one.

He also strongly courted the segregationist/George Wallace voters to get elected, playing heavily in the race card game, something rarely if ever acknowledged later in life.

Though he publicly concealed the fact, I have zero doubt Jimmy detested America.
