Sounds like we have 6 new bomb targets. On the Iranian side of the border of course.

It's very tempting to want to bomb everything in sight and to attempt some sort of special ops that inserts (how many?) ground troops to get at that uranium.

There are just so many ways for that to go wrong, creating prisoners of war/hostages, etc.

I hope we can think of some alternative.

You would not use those things to take out a ballistic missile launcher. We only have somewhere around 8 to 10 available and they are not fully tested and approved for combat use. They are still considered to be in the testing phase.

I'm not so sure. President makes so much of himself as a master deal maker, he might dither around thinking he is going to get a great deal, when the actual truth is, is you cannot trust or make a deal with any of the people currently in power in Iran. They will lie, tell you want you want to hear, and then screw us over the first chance they can.

He knows that.

Sanctioned tankers disguised as Iraqi vessels are moving hundreds of millions of dollars in Iranian crude as President Donald Trump doubled down on the port blockade to squeeze Tehran's oil lifeline, according to maritime intelligence.

Windward AI claimed Wednesday that a group of U.S.-sanctioned tankers are falsifying their location data to come off as anchored off Iraq while secretly loading Iranian oil at Iranian ports.

"Among the tankers spoofing their location in the area identified by Windward are four VLCCs (very large crude carriers): Alicia (IMO 9281695), RHN (IMO 9208215), Star Forest (9237632) and Aqua (IMO 9248473), using various flags, including fraudulent registries from Curacao and Malawi," the firm told Fox News Digital.

For the four VLCCs, each VLCC can hold about 2 million barrels, so four of them would hold 8 million barrels worth about $800 million at $100 per barrel," Windward said.

We just moved another carrier strike group into the region, that makes 3. They aren't there to help with a blockade that doesn't need any help. I can't recall any other time that we've had 3 carrier strike groups in the same region that we didn't attack. Imho, Trump knows if this drags on too much longer then it's going to do real damage to him in the midterms. He needs this over quickly with a decisive victory and eliminate an evil that past Presidents were too afraid to deal with.

Yeah let us know when former Iranian citizens now living in other countries around the world are willing to go home and fight for their country and relatives still there. Maybe Pakistan would ship them into Iran.

Interesting how All Mideast countries And Iranians want American Soldiers to go fight for them but they are not willing to fight for themselves. You would think they would have raised their own army by now after being attacked and damaged by the Iranian missiles and drones… But guess who they want to do that job.

Who said anything about Iranians that have left? I am talking about the Iranians in the country. We need to figure out a way to get them weapons, they will not rise up empty handed. They also have no way of communicating with each other to form a legit coalition, that is something we will have to figure out

Other Arab countries have wanted to start an air campaign "I believe" but we have told them to stay away for now. They have not offered troops to my knowledge

lol. They could get weapons from any neighboring country. They are lovers, not fighters.

Same as all the mideastern countries. They hire others to fight for them.

that is just completely ludicrous on it's face to claim

SYRIA
IRAQ
LEBANON
LIBYA

they weren't fighting for years in all those "lover" countries??!

Oil hit a 4-year high Thursday following a report that the U.S. military would brief President Donald Trump on potential action against Iran, raising worries that armed conflict could resume, and building on the American blockade of Iranian exports.

Axios reported that the U.S. Central Command was set to present Trump plans for possible military action against Iran, citing two sources with knowledge of the matter.

Trump had earlier reportedly rejected Tehran's proposal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, signaling the naval blockade will remain in place until a broader nuclear agreement is reached.

Except that it was reported yesterday that the Ford CSG would head back home to Norfolk in the next few days, supposedly arriving to a well deserved homecoming around mid-May. So we'll be back to 2 CSGs pretty soon.

We really can't sustain 3 CSG's in the region for long, that was always going to be temporary. There's a saying that if you need one, you should have 3, to factor in one in training, one in maintenance for any number of military components. We have 11 but Nimitz is going to (finally) retire when she makes it to Norfolk I believe.

we crushed them with TWO Carrier Battle Groups

now that they have zero navy and zero air force and mostly destroyed SAM systems- two carriers is plenty.

as long as we have the Israeli Air Force right there with us- we can do more damage than any other military on the planet within 48 hours.

I agree. I just hope he doesn't let his ego as a deal maker get in the way. I agreed with the action against them, It was time to end their BS talking. When someone tells you they plan on killing you, you have every right to believe they mean what they say, and take action to prevent it. I'm just of the opinion that when the first cease fire showed they weren't serious, he should have said, ok, back to plan A, let's blow up some more s..t. Maybe it's as you suggested, with the third carrier group, we plan to put so many aircraft up there, it blocks out the sun!

When the third strike group gets there, one of the other two is headed home. I forget which one, but I believe one of our strike groups is overdue on their deployment.

so suddenly the Islamic Republic believes that a blockade is a "declaration of war"?!?!!

interestingly, they didn't believe that for the past 30 days when THEY are enforcing an illegal blockade on the entire world.

The blockade is successful because the bombs were/are successful. You need both. Iran at some point will have to take some action. This is not sustainable for them. Then we respond with more bombs. We can do this far longer than they can.

ALL they have to do is verifiably give up nuclear weapons development and stop supporting terrorism, and build only a reasonable amount of long range ballistic missiles.

Well stop right away if they'd simply sgree to those very basic and reasonable and civil requests. Pretty much all of the rest of the world wants them to do these things. If they'd just do them, we'd be happy to leave them alone.

The only way to back up that threat requires support from either China or Russia via advanced anti ship missiles. I can't rule out Russia doing so in retaliation for sending ATACMS to Ukraine. China in the other hand, i don't see a scenario where they do anything more than sending better guidance packages for Iran to swap out.

Who says we don't have it and/or that we are ignoring it? I am not seeing any reporting that any of those ships has cleared the Strait of Hormuz outbound with oil or that they delivered anything of value to an Iranian port. We don't have ships in the northern Gulf that I am aware of that could do anything to stop these tankers from being loaded. If we let them out of the SoH that is a different matter.
