You would be surprised. Usually a useful idiot the cartels throw under the bus. It's a racket

In other words I don't want to be a cop cause they don't make as much as I do. But I'll criticize them cause I would be a perfect cop if I lowered myself to be one.

Good cops catch strays because qualified immunity has run amok in holding the bad ones accountable. Fix qualified immunity, and this **** will sort itself out quickly.

It's not just QI, it's the myriad protections and barriers between malfeasance, incompetence, and negligence and consequences like union mandated policies on internal investigations and arbitration for punishment and termination, the conflict of interest in internal investigations, legislative protections, the ability to move departments after termination for cause, and court rulings like QI. Any one of these on its own wouldn't be the end of the world, but when they're viewed in totality they are a roadblock that enables ****ty cops to stick around. Perfect example is SAPD, where a guy was fired multiple times for repeatedly making false arrests but was continually reinstated by the union arbitration process. The union president said he, "made some unfortunate mistakes but was really a good cop."

Don't disagree with anything you said. QI is just the most well known tactic.

That's a whole lot of words to say unions are bad...

The trial is live-streamed. The video I watched yesterday the judge kept jumping in on the defense attorneys cross examination. Never seen that.

Also, Ohio passed an antislapp law in April 2025, so all of afromans recent releases are being objected to being entered into evidence. Afroman may get case law out of this lol.

the ohio laws says it applies to cases filed on or after april 9, 2025. this lawsuit was filed in 2023.

case law he gets out of this isn't going to be good on that issue

Appellant court will be decide that

so did the officers file new claims after april 9, 2025? embedding your own X feed doesn't make the claim of what an appellate court might do in a hypothetical situation does not make the argument credible.

what is the counterclaim they are now opened up to?

I have a pic of my son with Afroman. He played my son's fraternity party at Sewanee maybe five years ago. My son was the only person Music/tech literate enough to set-up the bands stage equipment, so he got the pic.

The concert ended early because someone stole Afroman's chalice...My son pleads complete ignorance as to where the chalice might be.

I had a vehicle smash grab incident couple years ago. Surprisingly, I got a call back about my gun being found. On the call, I asked if a few hundred in cash was in the bag too, and Hou PD said "yes, got that too".

After waiting several months, I arrived at evidence room and there was no cash ever entered into evidence. If cops steal cash from victims of crimes, they certainly steal from criminals. So I want to take the opportunity to "defame" cops and Feds too.

I know this may sound crazy, but is it possible you were misinformed over the phone?

Incoming bootlicker comments.....

The antislapp claims laid out in the law. You're a lawyer, go read the law.

I read the law. I explained to you why it doesn't apply here.

then you came back with a random ChatGPT screenshot you posted on X. I asked you to explain it, which you couldn't.

again, the defamation claims were filed in 2023. the law applies to cases filed after april 9, 2025.

afroman just testified he has no evidence that the officer was a pedophile like he claimed and no evidence that another officer (phillips) stole his money, also admitted he made the instagram posts to make money (about 24k so far),

I think what he's saying is that they are referencing a YouTube post made after April 9, 2025 that would bring everything forward. I don't know if that's correct or not, but that's how I read it.

Nope. That is classic defamation.

You think freedom of speech allows you to falsely say someone is a pedophile, molestor or robbed you without any legal consequence? Seriously?
oh no

defamation. the defense of defaming someone is proving that what you said is true. it appears that the defendant here just admitted he knew it wasn't true.

the burden of proof for defamation is more difficult for a public figure, such as a celebrity or politician, which is why you can make up BS about a public figure and call it "free speech", but these local cops aren't public figures. Afroman is the public figure here; not the local PD.
BMX Bandit

So the defense is that these were not factual statements, but satire and comments on society in general.

That very well may win if true believes they were not factual statements about the officers. No factual statement means no defamation.

Strange that they did not go with the defense strategy of "these officers are drug addicts that made up a false story to steal money from Afroman"
HTownAg98
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Afroman may very well win on most of the claims, because based on what I saw previously, these cops are coming off as whiny *****es. And bringing a lemon pound cake to a Christmas party tends to whittle away at the fact that your reputation was harmed if you're joking about it. The pedophile claim may be the only one that sticks, and I would not be surprised at all if the jury awards $1.

Before yesterday I had never heard of Afroman but after trial watching for a few days I am liking this dude a lot.

They used to say don't pick a fight with someone that buys ink by the barrel but the new saying should be not to pick a fight with a musician with hundreds of thousand of followers.

I think he's going to have trouble with the pedo one. That's just something you don't accuse somebody of without evidence. I think he'll skate on the other stuff.

Throw in the fact that they had a warrant for the wrong house. He's essentially making fun of their gross incompetence, and it seems like that should be protected speech. The pedo stuff is unrelated to that, and that may be where he gets in minor trouble. I can't imagine a jury having much sympathy for these clowns that can't even search the correct house..

Wasn't precedent set for this type of speech when Larry Flynt took Jerry Falwell to the SC? No one actually believes anything Afroman is singing about really happened and knows it to be a joke.

HTowns theory likely correct. Jury didn't think they were serious accusations from Afroman
