Trust me, native Floridians are sick of the Yankee invasion and would love for them to all go back as well.

Yankees come down to Florida to visit.
Damn Yankees move down to Florida and stay.

My daughter moved to Florida from Texas a little over a year ago and works in retail while waiting for her fianc to graduate. She just told me a couple days ago that she can't wait to move back to Texas. When asked what was so bad about Florida compared to Texas, she said definitively it was the people. More specifically, snowbirds from liberal New England states. Working in retail, she deals with a lot of these types and said they are obnoxious, entitled, and rude.

No real point to this anecdote, but I'm glad that Texas' snowbirds are mostly from the Midwest which isn't nearly as bad IMO than New England.

As a Texan who moved ti Sarasota 5 years ago, I can def vouch for that. I meet ao many nice, wndearing people from Florida. Then I meet New Yorkers, Nee Jersey-ans(?) , Rhode Islanders etc. and they are ridiculous in a bad way. Nobody likes them.

Anecdote- I was in Publix (grocery store) a while back and overheard two old guys from the Northeast lamenting that no one from Florida/ the South honks their car horns enough. I stopped to listen and the ending was 'I don't give a S*** about these people. I honk as loud and long as I feel like'

I loathe them

Reminds me of Dallas.

I think most of you on this board have a misunderstanding of what a "New Yorker" is. There are those from NYC, and then there are those from the rest of the state. While NYC is overwhelmingly liberal and screwed up, the majority of the rest of the state is relatively conservative.

And here's the kicker. NY is a beautiful state. The finger lakes, the Adirondaks, the Hamptons, the vineyards of the North Fork, etc. Other than its beaches, Florida is a pretty butt-ugly state in comparison. Trust me on this one; I have houses in both states. There are probably many millionaires who left the state who WOULD consider coming back if the taxes were more modest and the trajectory were better. But they can see where this whole thing is going.

I think that's true of allot of blue states.

The prettiest places sometimes attract the ugliest kinds of people.

That doesn't mean there aren't plenty of decent people living there also; which is something that is often overlooked by Republicans.

Cali for example has allot of conservative minded people that have moved to Texas because they're sick of Liberal Politics ruining their home.

NY has double the budget of Florida with fewer people and it isn't remotely run as well. At some point people need to figure out that money is not the problem. The real issue here is that without those taxpayers it threatens Democrat grift.

Thanks. Im a California transplant, and 100% of the Californians I met, which is many, are deep red and fled California the same as I did. We're doing fine.
The ones turning Boise purple are all from the under-30 age group, and most of those are actually local. Ironically California transplants are balancing out the younger native idahoans.

I live in Boise. I was mostly referring to the state as a whole though, which is as red as you'll find outside a couple pockets. Boise being one of them, of course, but even here isn't overall terribly blue. For now, anyway. I do come across a fair number of crazy liberal women though, but they're generally pretty obvious and easy to avoid.

And as I said, it's turned purple because of younger locals, not transplants. Older locals and California transplants are keeping things from going further blue. A little irony there...

Even in Boise, you keep out of the North End and it's pretty conservative. My neighborhood in Meridian is the most conservative neighborhood I've ever lived in by far…. and it's full of California expats.

Unfortunately, my brother is one of the rabidly blue locals. He was a regular Alex Keaton type growing up until he went and got an MBA at UT and then moved to Boise about 30 years ago. He was just your normal moderate dem until Trump came along and broke him. Now I just don't talk politics with him at all because he can't avoid turning it into a shouting match.

Note to liberal politicians: The people that vote for your nonsense never really expect that "they" will have to pay for it.

The predecessors of modern day liberal politicians understood this and always dumped the burden on the working class and those with limited options to leave. This current crop of liberals don't understand that until someone with options gives them the middle finger.

that's how socialist uprisings and revolutions work. That's how countries vote themselves into socialism. …and when the people who pay for everything leave or become poor themselves from government extracting too much of their "fair share", that's how socialism fails.

We just saw this all happen very quickly in Venezuela. Democrat politicians don't care. They just want the power. They just know they and their families will be elites as they watch their country crumble.

If their ideas are unpopular with citizens, they will even intentionally put their citizens, the economy, and infrastructure at grave risk as they import the third world by the millions with mass unfettered migration just to gain power for themselves knowing the destruction and how it ends for everyone else and the next generation.
