To put it in perspective. The Royal Navy has LESS active duty personnel than the USCG. But then you don't need a lot of folks if you never put to sea or go in harm's way.

Fecklessness spread across Europe decades ago. Surprising that some Americans are just now realizing this.

And we have no obligation to ensure their oil shipments for them.

Well, we aren't doing that anyways lol

Umm what? There is a reason the world counts on Freedom of Navigation patrols by the US.

We don't even control the strait, so we can't even ensure their oil shipments for them if we wanted to.

Yes we are. We can lay waste and open it up or lay waste and shut it down. Our decision.

Did you read a report that we ran out of bullets, bombs and fuel for our airplanes? Happy to review a report saying that is where we are at.

Exactly. People complain that if we leave before the strait is open then the war is a failure. Wrong. Our goal was decimating their military capabilities. The reality is in modern warfare any country can load up on drones and hold something like the strait of Hormuz hostage. It's time for countries to recognize this and take action accordingly.

The arabs don't really care if it is immediately opened. And if they don't, we sure as hell don't have to care. Apathy on the point kills the IRGC leverage (and the Europeans' economy) more than anything else. I think this is why there is so much vitriol right now in Europe/UK/their press. They're paying $10/gallon right now in London for gas, imagine if it hits $15?

Smarting off about basing/consulting them in advance is fine and dandy right now for the spaniards/Italians/Starmer etc, but the reality is their broken and weak navies not being available/used to protect their own real interests is going to bite them, not Trump, politically.

Rubio just listed yesterday that the US main objective for the war included opening the strait.

Then the message from Trump

Is this what you say after you declare the war is won and we don't need your help now- after it was offered (even if delayed)?

This sounds like something you say when you realize you probably got yourself into something without an easy exit - which was predicted by many.

When you choose to go at it alone you better deliver.

False information.

You heard reports from unnamed sources that says Trump may have contemplated what the options are for ending hostilities before the Strait is fully open.

The "declared victory" stuff has been covered extensively. It's just being antagonistic to keep saying that in a manner meant to mislead.

And before it was Trump has no plan, ignores his cabinet, silences them as he rules as a MAGA Dicktater King… now its Trump is undecided on plan, advisors freely layout for the public our options.

You should ask yourself why you choose to live in a place its $5 gallon.

And if it bothers you, buy an EV.

So I have a few friends who are at varying degrees Muslims. My experience is that even if the parents are devout the children are much less so.

I think we can make a strong stand against the import of Islam by not allowing communities of such to setup "enclaves" where they attempt to close in, self govern, self police and radicalize.

Invite your kids friends over even if you know they are Muslim. Don't drizzle everything in bacon fat no matter how funny you think it is.

If you meet a family that just want associate? Go ahead and call a tip in to the FBI.

People who refuse all association, particularly when they enforce that separatism on their children, are radicals no matter what the flavor. Keep an eye on them.

When I grew up, most of these radicals when by the name "Baptists". Just as dangerous.

You might want to look up the Uyghurs before you make that statement.

To be fair, the Chinese have not exactly taken them in unless we also think African slaves were taken in by Northern elites to work on their Southern cotton farms.

Uyghurs were already in China. China is placing them in concentration camps and trying to exterminate them. It's amazing how the left idolizes the CCP but demonizes Fascist Germany when the CCP is acting very much like Fascist Germany.

I knew RMCs who died in Afghanistan because the UK answered our call in the one and only time an Article 5 has ever been issued. The actual reason for the existence of NATO, and it has been used once in history and it was us. And the rest of the alliance responded and went to war with us. In one of the most pointless, expensive, and politically motivated wars in our long history. They were sold a bill of goods just like the American public and they lost lives and treasure as well, because we asked them to. They deserve a lot more credit for that.

The UN I can see us making noises about leaving. Leaving NATO would be cutting off our nose to spite our face IMO and I think our admin still believes that as well.

There was a spike of attacks at the end of '25.

You don't hear about it because the news didn't focus on it.

They are still active. It's just normalized again and we have other headlines to be mad about now and give our clicks.

First of all, Crude Oil WTI (USD/Bbl) $104.39, and is not sold by the Gallon.
Gasoline is sold by the gallon, and while it may be $5/gal where you are at, in ABQ yesterday, many stations were $3.99/gal, but I got 6 gal for $3.57/gal at Murphy USA.

this is just trump seeking to deflect accountability or responsibility for a global problem he created by pandering to the anti-euro crowd, who refuse to learn how interconnected global energy commodity markets are.

"go get your own oil" is ultimately meaningless; a closed SoH raises the energy price floor for the whole world, us included. anyone who's filled their tank in the last month can tell you that.
