I've seen commentators suggest taking the oil. I have not seen anyone in the admiration say we're Taking the oil or Kharg. Trump has said we can easily destroy it

Neighbor Watch can be effective in eliminating threats. Either trying to Jack stuff from people's homes or kill people for misguided religious beliefs is the same thing. There has to be law and order.

I wonder what the options are for exiting this. It feels like there are only two. Declare that all objectives were achieved and leave. Or send in ground troops and escalate.

Just curious….. what did they do to take care of the problem of Iran…. Every one of them acknowledged the problem…. So is it an attack if it's truth….

Two things he stressed in that whole brute force brainwashing incoherent ramble were incredibly horrific.

The first is the war will continue

The second is that it will escalate and badly.

This is going to take the whole world down a very very dark road. This man and his cronies are taking us all down with them.The working class is suffering enough we don't need to face a global crisis because of bad predatory actors.

We may not be feeling it yet, but the restricted access to oil globally will cause everything to inflate. Transportation, manufacturing, energy, agriculture... it all runs off oil and products derived from oil.

We are heading towards a major global depression (famine and wealth). Stock market and oil prices this morning are reinforcing what I just stated.

As long as the Iranian people are free to live like they did fifty years ago because the new regime will be governing like it did fifty years ago and the uranium is no longer in Iran, yes, the world will be in a better situation. Otherwise all we did was give the military industrial complex a fresh f*kton of money by us having to replenish what was spent on this war.

I'm really hoping the former is what will be at the end of all this, mostly because that's what Trump talked a lot about in the beginning of it all.

Google is your friend give it the prompt of "how many times has trump talked about taking other countries oil". He has been saying it since 2016 and every foreign military action is usually accompanied with we should take the oil or some other resource.

Again you can't just take Oil or Rare earth metals these resources are not in a warehouse ready to be plundered. The resources are in the ground and it takes equipment expertise and time to convert these resources into something useful

On a side note if you haven't heard Trump ramble about taking other countries resources you might want to expand your sources of news

Technically not a member of the administration but Senator Graham who seems to be on the inside of this military action referenced Kharg and said the Marines could do it just like they did on Iwo Jima obviously an Iwo Jima style assault is ludicrous which might be why right leaning news outlets are not replaying that interview on every news cast

I agree with you to an extent. It seems he dialed his speech back, especially about NATO for whatever reason. He was speaking to the millions of Americans that only get fed the lies of leftists media. Some people just don't know the whys and whats and however his speech turned out, fiery or dull, the majority of posters on this thread would classify it as a total failure because they want Trump to fail in the worst way. Trumps never gonna stop praising himself. He doesn't know how.
As far as the strait goes, it's not gonna open until we leave. I think Trump knows this and he's gonna eventually leave that to the countries that benefit the most. We didn't control the strait before the war and we won't control it after the war. Our pre war goal was to destroy their nuclear capabilities. Anyone who thinks they wouldn't strap a nuclear warhead to a missile when they were capable is delusional. I think they've proved that. Trump or no Trump, we did the right thing.

The stock market and economy are going to go through a huge downturn and recession no matter what he says or how many people we kill in this not a war. We've been in the middle of a downturn for 2+ years, the stock market is just now finally about to catch up. Nothing he says or does will do anything about that.

What if we had the Trump candidate running the show? The one we all voted for and gave him a mandate on mass deportations and no new wars. My guess is by 2028 the Republicans will be in a similar position that the Democrats were in 2024. They will be trying the best they can to distance themselves from a President that has completely lost the vast majority of voters. One difference is going to be that the Ds were able to at least shut Biden up. That is going to be much more difficult for Rs two years from now.

How similar can it be. Trump is a lame duck. I think Republicans have good potential candidates for 2028. Personally I hope Rubio gets the nomination. Biden won the primary and was their candidate and then got forced out and replaced with no election. Very different IMO.
