Talarico first and foremost has zero national fundraising/name recognition, or campaign, when looked into more seriously. He's under-performed vs. Beto even in his Texas state-wide campaign. Unless I am 100 percent wrong and he completely shocks the world and wins in November state-wide, I doubt we really hear much more from him until/unless he settles into some predominantly Democrat/gay-friendly district that will vote for him for House maybe, but there aren't going to be many of those with the new map (though this could change again in 2030 if the VRA requirements are trashed).

Maybe someone like Talarico would go for the VP nomination for the Dems in 12-ish years if they put someone like Malia/Sasha Obama (picking random black females) at the top of the ticket. That's about the only way he will get close to the WH, imho.

I could absolutely see that. I do not think he has the charisma of Beto to generate as much hype (and even Beto fizzled quickly after losing to Cruz) to stand out in the field though. I just don't think he appeals to the Dem base. But they will try and use him to generate more funds like they did Beto.

Oh please let it be Harris again in 2028. They tried to usher her out quickly in 2020, but I don't think they'd be able to do it again this time. The base will want her, but the party probably doesn't see her as a winner.

After all the pandering the Dems did under the Obama era and pushing Joe aside for Harris in 2024, it would be incredibly satisfying to see their voting base go with a bad candidate based on gender/race.

Yes, Abortion Barbie, Robert Francis, the motorcycle chick who sold her bike after getting thrashed, Lupe Valdez, Hinojosa, etc. All would have been as horrific in office as Spanberger. The only one in recent history who made a pretense even of being 'moderate' was Beto I think.

Having attended a few black churches growing up (Dad was a Gideon and would do outreach at the churches), Talarico's type will not go well. Though my father would certainly be characterized as "racist" these days, none of that applied when spreading God's word and worshipping, along as your faith was real.

Talarico's is infested with the ruint rottenness of leftist lies on abortion, LGBTQIA+++ and similar as it relates to Christianity. He may get some overtures from Down Low Deacons, but he will be rejected. He is wise not to push this.
