That is ridiculous. People who have lost their parents like I have lost my father understand this day and what it meant and still means to plenty of people it's idiotic that anyone would get upset over this.
What if it's not for kids that parents? What if it's for parents that lost kids?
Same thing holds. These have been official days for 100 years now. Everybody just tries to get offended by everything.
I have three friends who all off lost their sons at different anges and never once said they not wanted to be celebrated for Mother's Day.
People are just looking to be offended these days. Life ain't easy. There's a lot of hard things birthdays are painful for a child or a parent, but we don't stop celebrating those either. Nor should we.
My godson was killed in a car wreck in December 2024 at the age of 20. His mother, one of my best friends celebrated her first Mother's Day last May without him. She does have another son. She said she was very saddened that only one person wished her a happy Mother's Day, and I'm sad to say that I was not the one.
I think people get concerned that it's going to hurt too much for that on the pain but celebrating their life is what is important.
I don’t get enough credit for the things I manage not to say.
