I figured it was due to the high rate of estrangement between parents and adult children that's plaguing society right now.

it wouldn't be so high if adult children got in line and obeyed their parents

So, the position is that people who opt out of mothers and Father's Day emails are soft or weak….and OP decides the best way to combat weakness and soft societies is coming to F16 to whine about it the email?

Come on, man.

I read it more as mocking then whining.

It says more about the target demographic of the store than it does about society. Maybe shop at nicer stores?

I don't get "low credit, no credit, no problem" ads from the dealership I buy my new trucks from. Just sayin'.

Shop at HEB. Kroger is a filler store….

EOT.

The best way is to shop all for loss leaders. I usually shop at HEB. But last week Albertsons had choice Tbones on sale for almost $5 a pound with discounts. Makes that too easy. Competition is a good thing.

This is asinine. I say that as one who lost my mom in 2011 and my dad in 2018.

I shop at Kroger, I use their digital coupons therefor I get e-mails from them from time to time. Usually it is telling me about new deals or reminding me to use my fuel points. Today's e-mail however, just nuts!

Subject: You Can Opt Out of Mother's Day & Father's Day Communications

We know Mother's Day and Father's Day can be sensitive times for some. If you'd like to opt out of our emails and push notifications for these holidays, please tap below. Don't worry, you'll still receive all of our other emails.

How soft of a society have we become that we cannot just delete a freakin' e-mail if we don't want to read it. I mean, good on Kroger I guess. BUT REALLY!?

I have lost both parents, but I can handle it. Emails are the least of the reminders, not that I need any. I can only assume that someone complained.

I think this for the leftists that have cut their parents out of their lives for being maga

I lost my dad last year so I know this Father's Day is gonna suck but I will remember him fondly as I have done every day since he passed

My two year old died a week before Mothers Day.

Rough times.

Father's Day is still bittersweet, too. But we celebrate both.

I don't expect the world to change for me. But I'm having a hard time being upset if people want to offer/accept exempting out an email.

I would, however, encourage anyone that struggles with such things to find someone to talk to and find ways to turn sadness into something positive. Grief will find you no matter how hard you try to hide from it.

This. HEB is 10 mins away, Kroger is 2, I only go to Kroger when I've forgotten a single item or need something fast.

Nearest HEB to me now is 265 miles in Melissa, which according to another thread is now banned by Texags.

Kroger and Walmart are only options. Count your blessings.

That is ridiculous. People who have lost their parents like I have lost my father understand this day and what it meant and still means to plenty of people it's idiotic that anyone would get upset over this.
What if it's not for kids that parents? What if it's for parents that lost kids?

Same thing holds. These have been official days for 100 years now. Everybody just tries to get offended by everything.

I have three friends who all off lost their sons at different anges and never once said they not wanted to be celebrated for Mother's Day.

People are just looking to be offended these days. Life ain't easy. There's a lot of hard things birthdays are painful for a child or a parent, but we don't stop celebrating those either. Nor should we.

My godson was killed in a car wreck in December 2024 at the age of 20. His mother, one of my best friends celebrated her first Mother's Day last May without him. She does have another son. She said she was very saddened that only one person wished her a happy Mother's Day, and I'm sad to say that I was not the one.

I think people get concerned that it's going to hurt too much for that on the pain but celebrating their life is what is important.

It's not that big of a deal. Kroger is closer to me too, but I almost always go to H-E-B except for to pick up some things or honestly there's a few things I can get it Kroger that you can't get at H-E-B. Certain brands. It's not that bad, especially when they redid their store about six years ago.

I will say this though although I love H-E-B. I cannot stand their brand of food (the HEB generic) or the Hills County brand or whatever its called Most of it is really gross, but they have the regular brands and I do like the store better.

When I was in Houston, I always shopped at Randalls.

Now HEB deli and bakery are fine.
