I think he is probably fine being in the American political arena. It seems clear that this specific statement did not have to do with American politics.

Pope Leo was not the Pope when Biden was in office. Pope Leo and the Church's stance on gay marriage and abortion are also crystal clear: strongly opposed to both and he has spoken on both matters multiple times.

Francis was a hack too. Leo is a buddy of his, so forgive me for not exactly lining up my timeline perfectly on an Internet forum.

Even if you say the Catholic Church is crystal in its interpretation (I agree that it does have a legitimate interpretation of those topics), the pope does a very poor job of messaging. He goes on a "righteous" bashing of the current American administration when for years we've heard nothing but silence from Francis and now Leo when we have liberal Christians sowing evil and deceit. I didn't mention Talarico earlier, but Leo is silent on him. I understand that Talarico is not catholic, but Leo has no problem going after the prots in the current admin too.

The Catholic Church believes they speak for God and that their policies, teaching, and traditions are primary and ahead of the Bible.

Took me a bit of studying and listening to a lot of Catholics to fully understand.
